The pink lake in Australia only happens in a particular time of year. As an Aussie I can confirm it is a beautiful SALT lake. The problem is that in some times of year, the salt dries up and becomes hard, and turns the water white.

Lake Hillier and Lucky Bay are both near Esperance WA. It’s a pretty remote part of Australia.
Fun fact: there is also another pink lake near Geraldton in WA.
