    Why did they name their podcast after the people in the Odyssey who consumed lotuses?
    In the epic poem it caused the men who did to never desire to return home and forget their goals. It also represents people who indulge in luxury rather than dealing with practical concerns.

    • @Knight-Bishop
      @Knight-Bishop 3 месяца назад +1

      @@raydgreenwald7788 It might be. I noticed something in all of this as I was "finding my way", so to speak. There is a ton of overlap and almost a propensity or predisposition for it, but it isn't technically correlated. It is that almost any place on the spectrum still means there is some part of you that is resistant to change or finds it extra hard to accept that either you personally were wrong about something, or at least what you thought you knew was ill-informed at best, completely wrong to the point of brainwashing at worst. And this becomes some conflict where familiarity is simple and easy comfort. I have a feeling you've experienced this disconnect and then witnessed it in others, too.

    Ooooh, you don't know the cosplay priest? That's Calvin Robinson, he's part of our far right grift-o-sphere and hangs around with Laurence Fox. They both got sacked from GBNews around the same time and now have a podcast together call Father and Fox. I've only seen short clips of it and it's hilariously bad. Apparently he's part of the Lotus Eaters now and from that tiny bit you showed is busy appealing to crusader larping racists. Seems about right for him.
