I have just taken delivery of my Samic Sage and as a maturing 63 year old male and never having drawn a bow before, I got #35 limbs, I have over bowed and have taken delivery of #25 just yesterday. I hope with time I will progress to a heavier bow, but for the moment I will try to perfect my form before moving up. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
I’ve had some really good high end bows but I have to say the Samick sage is one of my favourite bows as it was the first bow I had. Mine is 60# and shoots great.
i scored this bow and 5 arrows off a buddy for 40$ as is without the String. i orderd 2x string for it on ebay for like 25$ and they came in the mail today! i am looking forward to giving it a Try tomorow morning in the back hill Trails. im out in central cape breton and wanted a traditional type of bow for a long times.
Man, I was on the fence about this thing but it is time to get off the fence. I'm wavering between the Galaxy Sage (62") and the Galaxy Bullseye (66"), not sure what I'll go with yet, but I'm excited to hit some targets. Excellent video, man, this helps a lot
I love mine 40# tuned right with a sharp broad head it will pass through deer I also took a old bear black bear compound bow apart and put sage limbs on it build a string for awarf bow a selway slide on quiver will quite it down also
@@BurningRiverBushcraft what weight do you recommend? I was talking to a buddy of mine and he says that i should go with 55lbs since im 6ft3 and 280lbs he says the rest will feel to light for me but honestly im not sure because completly new to archery ive only shot some of his bows for fun.
@@BurningRiverBushcraft I can see the appeal and easy storage of the takedown, but it's heavy and the riser is chunky compared to the one piece counterpart, the one piece is also shorter at 60"

I over bowed too. But I'm sticking to my 55#. At least you'll have spare limbs when u move up

@@BogOakBushcraft 55 is a lot of bow shoot some weights so you can get a feel for what you need. 40-45 is a good place to start.
@@BurningRiverBushcraft thanks for the advice man gonna go test out some bows weights tommorow 🙂
great vid. what arrows do you shoot for samick ? what would you recommend as a good arrow ? thanks
These are wooden arrows from my longbow. I would use carbon arrows, they are a little easier to use.
is the riser of the Samick Sage compatible with limbs from Lightning Archery?
I'm not sure
What do u think is best this samick bow or a black Hunter bow
I am not familiar with a black hunter bow.
Anyone know if the Samick sage limbs sold on eBay are authentic? Or is it counterfeit?
I’ll stick to crossbow lol
Why?
Just get the one piece sage, it's heaps better and more fun
I like the Takedown Feature

@Sebastian b.David I haven't seen the one piece. There Longbows look nice too.
Clunk.
Those breakdown bows will never shoot as smooth as a single piece. Idc how tight you tighten down the Allens
Way easier to transport tho
Can i hunt with 30lb sage or do i change the limbs to 40lb?
States vary. I can hunt small game with under 45# Big Game requires #45 and over in my state
GO WITH THE TACHYON SCORPIO IT WONT FAIL ON YOU
