What a feat of technology and Engineering. I bet that operator slept well that night.
Yes, he must have had nice dreams after getting this job done! :-D
That crane is huge! Nice work Mammoet!
Excellent video and sound track! Thanks
I don’t care who owns them or where they are at,all cranes are are work of art
We love them too!
Ever run a T775? You'll change your mind haha
All of that only to realize the anchor bolts have been placed improperly
Impressive overall load. Interesting film.
I remember this lift. I work across the interstate at another plant.
That's a big terex cc8800 boom booster crane
Excellent company
Good job
Good warking
Very very impressive.
Something which puzzles me - the pins where the boom can pivot - how or why don't they shear through due to the huge forces exerted on them?
Jack King the counter weights take most of the load!
The counterweights balance the load but they don’t take the load off of those pins, they increase it.
The shear strength of steel is very high. Those pins are probably 4150 or similar with a yield strength of around 55,000 psi. Think about how small the shaft on the hook is, which has 100% of the load. A 10 inch pin has a sectional area of about 79 square inches and can theoretically support over 2,100 tons before deforming plastically. The main truss is only so large because it needs torsional stability.
Yeah, what he said⬆⬆
I thought there was going to be a crane in this video.
you blind lol?
Nice job! How many parts of line were you reeved at?
Richard Savaglio, how would you like to reeve that without a reeving winch? Lol
To The Top Crane ive pulled more than enough cable by hand, then I got smart. I got a spoil of 1/4” cable and a Chinese finger with a swivel in it. Now I pull cable out with my truck!
Richard Savaglio, good plan!
