  • hello Friends in this vidoe i will show how to Use a Xl4016 As a power supply....
    The XL4016 module is based on the XL4016 integrated circuit. Here is the first general description paragraph from the data sheet. "the XL4016 is a 180 kHz fixed frequency PWM buck (step-down) DC/DC converter, capable of driving a 8A load with high efficienc, low ripple and excellent line and load regulation
    .The short Circuit current can go much as 12A the voltage is adjustable from 1.2 v to 32V maximum input is 36V in my video i used a 25v 2A transformer sorry about that
    About Module
    Regulator Type:

    Output Voltage:+0.8 to 28vdc

    ,( 8A maximum with heat sink )
    Adjustable Current:0.2 to 12A

    ( when output voltage is set high )Protection:
    Short circuit current limiting, thermal shutdown


    The way it works is this:
    The pot is a variable resistance and is connected between OUT+ and Feedback. There is another (fixed) resistor between Feedback and Ground.
    "Feedback" is the negative input of an operational amplifier. The positive input of that operational amplifier is connected to a reference voltage, which varies from one design to another but is usually between 0.8 Volts and 1.25 Volts. The XL4016 and SZBK07 are both about 1.2 volts.
    These components form a negative feedback control loop that maintains the Feedback pin at the reference voltage. If the voltage at OUT+ is too high, the output of the operational amplifer goes down and decreases the PWM duty cycle of the converter, which decreases the output voltage. The converse happens if the OUT+ voltage is too low. Winding the voltage control pot one way to reduce its resistance reduces the output voltage; winding it the other way to increase its resistance increases the output voltage.
    It is essential to have this feedback control loop formed by the pot, a resistor to ground, and the operational amplifier.
    However if the pot is wound up to a high value, additional current from another source can be fed into the Feedback pin, which has the effect of reducing the output voltage.
    One way of providing that additional current is by putting an external pot between OUT+ and the Feedback pin. Using a suitable value pot will give a new (lower) maximum setting for the OUT+.
    Another way of providing additional current is to connect a resistor and diode coming from a PWM pin of a microcontroller. The resistor is needed to avoid drawing excessive current from the PWM pin. The diode is needed to ensure that the current is always additional.

    Wow!!!! how is about noise? If low noise after CLCLCRC then it is very good for use in filament bias of tube amp

      Триммер, который вам нужно использовать, составляет всего 10k Не используйте никакие Другие 20 кОм 50 кОм не подойдут, если вы хотите супер плавную регулировку, используйте только многооборотный резистор 10 кОм ✌️

      Yes,
      It can give out 5V And 8Amps but for a long time , i recommend using some Small fans on radiators to keep it cool , If you have a problem after that let me know!

      You Can Adjust The voltage From 1.5V to Input voltage like if input is 12V then 1.5V to 12v
      And Current 0.2A to 12A Max

    i have the same power supply.i use 38v 3.5amp input and work well work me.the input voltage is not 32 its 40v.i think lm358 has its own regulator

      I Think its better to not use more then 35V because lm358 have own regulator but its liner so higher voltage means more heat and many other problem..... Never trust sellers rating

    while connecting external pot to the module for voltmeter and ammeter, can the left and right wires interchange keeping both sides center wires connected. You are not showing clearly in the video. Please clarify how the connection should be. Please don't use any background music, you can explain step by step yourself but don't use any background music. please give wiring diagram in video itself.

    Good day sir! I would like to ask if I can use this on my 3pcs 12dc fan 15watts each with Direct to solar PV set up? Currently my set up is 100w solar panel and 3a mini buck converter each fan between solar panel. Am planning to use this DC CC 9A 280W Step Down Buck Converter for my 3 12vd fan instead of 3 3a mini buck converter. Will it work?

    hello sir I have a 12v 30A smps i want to make a adjustable power supply 2v-30v, i have two different options with two module
    1: use 150w step up dc converter for reach 30v and then use 300w step-down dc converter for adjust voltage.
    2: use both modules separately, it's mean 150w step-up dc converter for above 12v range and 300w step-down dc converter for below 12v range
    which on is better or maybe both are bad idea?

      If you use both expect the boost converter to be 80% efficient and then the buck converter to be up to 94% efficient and as low as 70% efficient. So on the low end you could potentially only have 54% efficiency. Your 360W PSU jus became a 190W but that means you'd be boosting the 12V to 30V only to buck back down to a low voltage.
      It would be much better to use one of the two. Hopefully your PSU has a small trim pot so that you can work between 11 and 13 volts. Here's the catch. Those tiny little trim pots, the ones that fit a phillips head screwdriver (small) have a shitty mechanical lifespan like most trimpots. We're talking 50-200 turns at most. You'll want to replace that with something sturdier. The other issue is the boost and buck converter dont like working right next to the input voltages. So try to adjust your PSU furthest away from the 12V range you use. If you think you'd be using 12-13 volts and almost never use 11-12 volts (like most people) I would advise adjusting your PSU to put out 12.6V or 12.8V. If you use the boost converter it should be stable around 13.4V to 13.6V. Or you can use nothing and keep the PSU in the upper 12 range. If you absolutely must use 12.3 or something similar make the adjustment on the PSU. Anything under 12V should be stable with the buck converter.
      Pretty much the closer you stay to input voltage when dialing in the output, you'll have the best efficiency but it will be unstable if you're trying to get it within half a volt. My advice would be buy a DP HPS Proliant Server Power Supply. The 12V 460W ones are $10 or less and the 750W ones are $20. If you look hard enough on a site like ebay you can find the 1200W one for $35 or less. Add a 1800W boost converter (its really only good for ~1,000 watts at most) to cover all your needs over 12V. I think the 1200W power supply puts out 70A when plugged into 220/230/240V so even if you boost to 48V you have a "40A" capable boost converter that can bring 12V up to 48V that would leave you a max of 10A on the ouput..more like 8A or 9A on the output. I would high absolutely look at adding more cooling. Mount the converter in an open top box with two computer fans, one pulling in, the other exhausting out.
      Use your current PSU with the buck converter only.

      No there is internal reference voltage regulator 1.2V , so it cannot lower to less than 1.2V

    Всем привет. Нуждаюсь в консультации : входное напряжение 28 В (бортовая сеть грузовика), выставил выходное напряжение 5,15 В и ограничил ток в 3 А. Припаял двойное гнездо USB, в которое вставил USB-кабель , т.е. хочу использовать для зарядки смартфона и регистратора. Но почему-то на зарядку телефона идет всего 0,35 А и процесс очень длительный. Может кто знает, почему так ?

      у тебя телефон типа c? или быстрая зарядка. если да, то это не сработает. вам нужно купить модуль powerbank (быстрая зарядка). Затем установите выходное напряжение понижающего преобразователя на 4,2 В и подключите его к модулю powerbank Battery + и -, после чего вы можете зарядить свой телефон 🙂
