    so coffee's gender can change now. How very modern and progressive of Russia🙄
    The whole reason I'm watching videos like this and trying to learn is bc I thought Russia _didn't_ do this type of bs we do in the west. Kinda disappointing, ngl.

      The reason is, many native speakers kept making a mistake of calling coffee оно instead of он, so the organization that establishes the Russian language norms just decided to make it easier for those who couldn't remember that кофе is an exception of Masculine gender
