    Chess hasn't helped me with my studies at all. I can sit and analyse a chess game for hours on end but whenever I open a course book i get distracted in 15 minutes lol.

      You must be 600 elo thats why. If you were a GM you could study with your eyes closed. Some say you can even learn the knowledge through osmosis at the top level.
