Hey, he went ass to grass. Don't blame him because someone else didn't come by and cut that grass in 6 months.

+David Troutt he's focusing on quads, not on glutes, that's why he doesn't go deep, it's bodybuilding, not a powerlifting competition dude...

Elvis Ferbeyre And the function of the quads is knee extension. Thus the more you go down, the more work the quads have to put into extending the knees against gravity. Plus, EMG research shows that the quads and glutes are maximally activated in basically the same ROM which is from parallel down. roachfitness.files.wordpress.com/2015/09/good-bad-not-ugly.jpg

ariandbz I saw the link of the chart you sent me. It doesn't say anything about quads work when going parallel, it just mention the glutes engagement more, which is what I'm going to talk about right now.
In the case of the squat, when you go parallel, the glutes are basically doing most of the work, so it takes away work from the quads, in the leg extension is different cuz is all quads.
Haven't you seen the video of Phil Heath explaining the Quads Lunge, which is a lunge where you don't go all the way down? In addition, Phil Heath has improved his legs a lot.

+Elvis Ferbeyre It shows that maximum quadriceps EMG is from 80 degrees to 135 degrees, which "parallel" falls into. You do know "quads" is short for "quadriceps", right?
