I’ve never had a fall garden and I’m using fabric bags. I followed the timing for our frost date in Zone 8b and I worked backwards. Even doing that, some of the seeds just wouldn’t establish because it’s still hot (we’re still in the 90’s). Anyway, I have so many seeds that I just keep re seeding what isn’t working. My peas have gone crazy. The spinach is doing well as well as oak leaf lettuce. The romaine is struggling as well as the broccoli so I’m just keeping notes for next year.

I'm in South Florida, & have done this... so here's a couple of tips. They can be killed by a freeze, or several days of hard frost. Most sensitive under 4-5 feet tall. • If you get them to 3ft- put them in the biggers pot you can, they don't like frequent transplanting. • The green type can grow HUGE. Not sure about the Haas. • They can take a long time to fruit.
That said, a good avocado tree produces lots of versitile food, & are a source of income for many. 🥑🍀🍀🍀
