I’ve not googled, typing as I watch - I recall when the owner bought Wimbledon, I think it was felt that plough lane needed developing and being in London, this was difficult. Once they decided they were relocating, I remember even Dublin was discussed and I think the FA was against this, so ended up at Milton Keynes and the phoenix club of AFC Wimbledon was formed. My memory maybe wrong though
While teams moving around is more normalized in USA, there are certainly stand outs where the populace rises up to prevent this. One big case in point is the recent "Save the Crew" movement.

That sounds right, I think Dublin was thought the probable relocation.
