Podcast editor tip: Muting curse words instead bleeping makes for a much more pleasant listening experience.

burnt is like Homer Simpson, having dumb luck and having everything handed to him, and the English teacher is Frank Grimes.

I'm not sure why this clip showwd up in my feed, but it served to remind me about one of the reasons life can be difficult for people, and it can be summed up in one word: ego. Ego can make you compare your life to other peoples' and ask "What's so special about them?" "What gift do they have that I don't have?" If people stopped at this point, no harm-no foul, but when they are in a position to impact others, their insecurities can prop them to be the tools of "comeuppance" as deemed necessary by their own calculus. Spend more time asking how can I help someone else to improve yourself, your home, your neighborhood, your city, etc.

The fact that this story made him famous makes me hate that I have honor and integrity...I could've been a millionaire.
Who believes that someone went to college and didn't know you had to declare a major or work towards a degree??

      you're just jealous and lazy.
instead of wasting your energy on hating on someone who made something of themselves- why not use that energy to making something of yourself?

@@DidierPeroni brother....you're commenting on a comment that is more than a few weeks old. I think you need to stop wasting energy and hating on someone.
I ain't hating on Bert because of his work ethic...I'm hating on the fact that such a blatant and over the top lie made him famous....but you can't understand that because you're sitting here trying to start an argument over a fake ass person and story.

@@saltyp123bro, maybe you got me wrong. I’m not trying to fight you on whether the story is true or not- it’s almost irrelevant and there is no way to know for sure.
Let me bring it back to you.
Make a list of things that you have done in your life, that could put you within touching distance of greatness.
Now make a list of things that you have done or continue to do that get in the way of that.
When I did this exercise, it almost became crystal clear to me what I should and shouldn’t do.
One of the things I realised some time after, is that one of the traits that hold most people back (including myself) is being a cynic.
What transformed my life is seeing what I can learn from anyone or anything, regardless of if I love, like, hate or despise them.
      It single-handedly changed everything.
I hope more people can learn from that. The amount of joy, and enjoyment it brought to my life- I could never explain.
But I’d be happier a person if more people benefitted from that insight.

Most people also aren’t one of the top selling comedians in the world with millions of dollars and a movie deal at a major studio.
