Well, a backup is always good to have but why not backup the cluster? Furthermore, the milage is not saved in the GEM but in the IC itself. Been there and changed my cluster as well, hab to marry the cluster to the car, program keys to new cluster and adjust milage. Remote programming is the easiest step as it is done manually through the ignition.
Key programming was OK. But you have exchanged the cluster. So you should have made a backup from it (HEC) and after you fit the "new" one, upload the backup files into HEC and not the backup of GEM, isn't it? I see your car is working but don't understand.
@@rosidus Of course. Both of them must have a transponder chip in it. This is the main condition. But do not forget the first step: BACKUP of the modules. HEC and GEM.
@@balaamester thanks a mill for the advice. Really appreciate it. I need to alter the milage on my upgradcluster too. I've got new key delivered tomorrow so I'll cut it and attempt it on Tuesday
999999 miles... someone thought it would roll around to 0 didn't they lol. Been there my friend. Also I noticed you saved the GEM files, you actually needed to do this with the HEC not the GEM, GEM is the fusebox under the dash
Thanks man, it worked for me, the instrument cluster is far nicer than the old one
Been trying to source a new cluster but no luck
Is it possible to swap the cluster frm mk2 facelift focus into a mk2 pre-facelift focus?
Very good explained, worked like a charm. Thank you sir
Hello. Did you manage doing this? I've only got the remote key and the spare key. Would that work still?
The digital screen aint working, its blank and i dont know what to do. Im in jamaica, can i get a new cluster to buy?
I do like that face lift cluster, so did you have to alter the mileage? I didn't notice that part?
I'm confused the clusters look identical.
Grazie per il tutorial
Does the preheating light work when cold?
