I really love this bike, I remember Kawasaki coming out with the drifters and they really got the classic Indian look right, and I have a 1928 101 Indian which my father bought in 1937 when he was 21 so I am an Indian man and you have done a great job with this bike.
Hello from England UK. I have one with Vance and Hines pipes and extended fishtails, two tone paintjob etc etc, but yours here is an absolute stunner, well done youve done a beautiful job. Its the best ive seen
I had a VN 800 same color but was not a drifter, Vulcan Classic and loved that bike. Had Vance and Hines Cruzer pipes and sounded really good. I now have 4 Indians and love them as well. Had Mustang seat and could ride all day no problem, very dependable bike and had plenty of power.
My first bike was a 1996 Vulcan 800. I installed Cobra Slashcuts it sounded great. Your bike sounds really good. With all due respect, I want to talk trash about how it's just a Vulcan 800 but I like the darn thing too much lol. The Indian stickers aren't for me but nice bike dude
Vulcan vn 800 linda motocicleta parecida com indian chief 1947 perfeita tenho uma vn 750 aqui no Brasil mas e um modelo custom Chopper aqui no Brasil não temos esse modelo infelizmente
Hi Joe. Fantastic looking bike!. I've got a Vn800 with a long rider and pillion 'comfort' seat but really want to swap it out for a solo seat. Could you or anyone PLEASE tell me the make of a compatible solo seat that will fit the vn800 as I can't find one anywhere and even the local Kawasaki dealership can't locate an appropriate seat?! Many thanks if anyone can help.
The fishtails are slip ons from ebay Exhaust Fishtai pair for Kawasaki VN 800/ Classic/ Drifter chrome and most of the hand shifter is homemade and fabricated. Check out some drifter groups on fb for more info/ideas!
Hey man! Nice bike for sure, thing is awesome sounding. What are the pieces called that sit on the body of the muffler it looks like a spacer or a clamp.
@@joeblasia1427 and they fit right on your 800 Drifter they really make a a bike look good if you're going to have crash bars you need them in the back too especially if you lay the bike down it will save it thank you hey it looks like they attached with the passenger foot Peg bolts? And also under the seat solid frame Bolt hole?😮 is that true sir thank you
Thats a great bike. But respectfully, I dont see how you guys can put Indian badges and decals on what is a Kawasaki with Indian styling parts. Yeah, it looks a lot like an Indian but I think it would still be ok to call it what it is, a (Indian style) Kawasaki.
@therealspongebob69 There sure are a lot of how to ride videos out there like Moto Jitsu and MC Rider and Jerry Palladino and Dan the Fire Man (put out a great one on how to drive in traffic) and Canyon Chasers (although theirs seem to be more for guys who like to go fast). Im trying to get back into it after a looong time away from it and its kind of intimidating to me and I worry about banging up my bike (and me!), but empty parking lots offer lots of opportunities to practice things like stopping and turning and swerving and slow speed skills. You might think about a set of crash bars so if you do tip it over it may not scratch things up as much. Good luck and stay safe.
That's a beautiful bike that you should be proud of. Still I can't get behind plastering Indian all over it, seems kind of lame to me. Maybe not your intention but it seems like you're trying to deceive people. No reason not to be proud that it's a Kawasaki.
jesus how many times is the name indian stuck on that bike? 7 ? its way to much .. not only is it in bad taste, but its way too much .. on the tank like it would be on a real indian is enough.. when you have it on every single body panel/ piece its trying too hard
@@joeblasia1427 I've had three Drifters over the years and at one time even had patch for my leather Jacket of the 1500. Apart from a mustang seat on the 800 I currently own, the biggest improvement I've made to the bike is the installation of 5.5in risers. With that seat and those risers you can ride all day. I must say I like the look of your fishtail pipes too. Very fitting for the 48 Indian look. And I agree that the decals you add is a personal thing.

Sounds like slowed down jazz drum solo, really love the drifter.
Holy shit, if the 800 sounds this good, I can’t imagine how good the 1500 I’m set to purchase will sound
It will sound good with Vance & Hines Longshots. I've had 3 Kawasaki 1500s, 2 now, needed parts. I'm running V&H Bigshots and Cobra Drag pipes.

Gorgeous bike! I wouldn't have put Indian decals on it myself, but hey it's yours and you only gotta please you. Still, very beautiful.

There are FaceBook groups for Drifter riders where they sell bike parts.
Ok, thank you. I'm not on Facebook but I'll get a friend to look👍
I have a Le Pera single seat on mine, looks fantastic and traditional, check em out
Now all you need is the chrome lighted Indian on the front fender!
Nice! Very nice!
Were did you buy The pipes? 😎👍
Those are fish-tail slip-ons. Ebay
nice will the 800 drifter rear chash bars fit my 1500 drifter?
They will not fit. Look into the Nomad rear crash bars I think they will fit a 1500
Can you please give some information on where the pipes are from and the hand shifter please. Thank you.

They came off a 96 Vulcan from eBay
Looking good.
Hey man! Nice bike for sure, thing is awesome sounding. What are the pieces called that sit on the body of the muffler it looks like a spacer or a clamp.
Thank you! Those are exhaust clamps.
When using the hand shifter, do you have a left hand throttle?
No. It looks cool cruising slowly shifting through the gears especially downshifting.
Lo felicito quedo hermosa 👏👏👏👏👏👍💪🏽
where did you get the pipes
where did you get the pipes ive been looking for them for my drifter and cant find them
ebay...Exhaust Fishtai pair for Kawasaki VN 800/ Classic/ Drifter chrome

Ebay used. They came off a '96 VN 800 classic....Not a perfect fit.

@therealspongebob69 That one great video about riding in traffic was Motorcycle Training Concepts called How to Ride a Motorcycle In Town and Survive.
Were did you get the front and rear crush bars?
The front came with the bike. The rear crash bars came off a '96-98 Vulcan Classic
Hi, this is Paul from Texas, I’m interested in some of your add ons for my 2002 drifter. Would you mind communicating via phone call?
Same here man. I like that.
Bruh. Off the chain
Where do you put your passenger?
I swap out the solo seat with my two-up seat. Takes about 5 mins.
A real biker gas NO passengers!
Tell them to walk or catch a bus
How much?

in case you did not notice this is no kawasaki this is an Indian look on the side of the bike and see the chiefs head and the words indian
That indian sticker on the side cover looks really out of place .. almost like your trying to hard ...
I appreciate your honesty. I changed the side covers and added some other goodies!
why put indian stickers on tha bike...
The bike was designed to look like an old Indian

Thanks for the constructive criticism! Keep the shiny side up and have a great day!
why you put "INDIAN" if its a kawasaki?
It is a tribute to the 1948 Indian Chief. Kawasaki originally designed the Drifter to look like a 1948 Indian. Thanks for watching!

I ain't got no worries, it's fast enough and and I ain't in no hurry.
These bikes were built to look way closer to the original Indian specs then the stuff Indian puts out today.
