    So i just went yo try on these pads in a 32 plus 2, then an Iconik 32 plus 1. In yiur iconik review you were wesring 33 plus one. How much shorter were your 32 plus 2.5 px3s compared to the inconik you wore? Would a 32 plus 3 made them feel closer to the height of kf the iconik? Cheers

    Hello, How would you compare the sliding with PX3 Jenpro versus Vaughn quick slide material, it seem less efficient but would it like very 75% or barely equal like 10% less efficient….

    • @chrisxdudo
      @chrisxdudo  Год назад

      Not a big math guy, but there is no doubt that Quickslide slides better. However the harder foams on the inside edge of the Trues still provides a great slide regardless of material.

    I'm currently using his 12.2 set from NJ. I think they came from you? I was given paperwork with your name on it anyways lol. I always get your hand-me-downs, my pad plug if you will 😂. I was also amazed that a 6'2" guy is in a 32 but I love it and here for it. I also wish they were larger in the thigh which is nuts to think I'd be in a 32+3 or 3.5 lol

    What is your floor to knee measurement? My son (16 yr old) is 6ft and his ftk is 19 to 19.5. My son wants these new Catalyst but he's in CCM4.9 size 34+2 they fit him well but and according to True sizing chart he needs a 32+2. Thanks for your help.

    • @chrisxdudo
      @chrisxdudo  Год назад

      I won’t make a size recommendation cause I’ve never met or seen your son play, but I’d recommend to try on a pair at a local hockey shop or purchase from an online retailer with a good return policy and try them on for size.

    I am coming from a hyperlite 2 and I like the flex but could use a little bit more stiffness. Will the px3 custom soft option be a good option or should I look into the 12.2?

    • @chrisxdudo
      @chrisxdudo  7 месяцев назад

      You can’t custom order the L12.2 anymore. So you’d have to order the PX3 anyway. I wouldn’t order anything different than stock flex.

      @@chrisxdudo Okay. I also have a question about the 585 blocker. I know with that particular model you cant have some features that you would be able to have with the 595 but does the binding actually serve a purpose or is it just there

    Great vid. How tall are you in cm? I´m 172cm. My pads are RBK 34+1, which I turned into 32+3 and stuffed in half an inch at the top. Took me 3 months with an awl.

    Hey! I have a question, do you know if the L87 pads have a difference than the PX3 pads? Also, do you like the 20.2 or the PX3 pads better. Looking in to the 20.2 but want to know if I should go with the PX3 pads

    • @MIMadDogsHC
      @MIMadDogsHC 2 месяца назад

      If you never got an answer to this, let me tell you that the L87 is just a graphical change to the L12 or rather now the PX3 series of pad

    I was debating on those pads when I was shopping for new gear, but I went with what I’ve been using for the last 5 years…Warrior. After a few games in them I’m definitely taking the slide plates off.

    Ever been in Brian's? Looking to go from Gnetik 5 to these. Kind of scary with sizing and different sliding material, but I feel like the optislide is way too quick for me anyways

    • @chrisxdudo
      @chrisxdudo  Год назад +1

      I used Brian’s about 10 years ago when the SZ1 pad was out, dabbled with some SZ3 gloves and tried the Optik1, but honestly haven’t been a big user of them. My guess is sizing at the knee will be similar. I get what you mean with the primo material, I felt like it was too much on the Optik, for my preference.

      @@chrisxdudo yeah agree. I feel like always sliding out of the net and lose my balance. I think I'm going to order some of these px3. Just gotta try them on first. Right now I'm in a 35+1.5

    • @chrisxdudo
      @chrisxdudo  Год назад

      Go with a 34+2, could try weave if you’d like but I’ve been surprisingly happy with regular Jenpro.

      I am a bit in the same boat. Just getting back into goalie after 3 year layoff with hip injury/surgery recovery over the past year. I currently have Gnetik 2's. If I end up getting back in net again on a normal basis, I am going to need to new pads. Not sure to go with Gnetik 5's or PX3s. I play a hybrid butterfly style and need to use speed vs size to stop pucks.

    if the pros didn't use them...would we all jerk off to true pads the way we do? it seems they're always behind the curve. they haven't come up with much reecntly...just copy what others do. luckily reebok got them to get cozy with a lot of pros and people just stick to them
