Guys, you need to take some chill. The video of this game is 100% authentic and It could only be achieved in practice mode with undos. The purpose of the video is to know the end of the game and the highest score. Also, this also teaches you the strategy to play this game. I don't understand the reason for so many dislikes.
The reason for so many dislikes is probably because at 0:33 you say "Here comes the largest tile!". The video then continues for a little under *5 minutes,* thus, rendering the rest of the video as wasted time. While others may dislike the video for other reasons, that's certainly one of my issues with the video.
+ultrasnivy The point, as you didn't manage to see/remember the note, was proof that it is the largest tile. So yeah. Just for reference it's at 0:52. So rendering wasn't a waste of time. It was evidence you can't make any bigger tiles than that ever. Use your head kid. Might do well in school if you do that AND pay attention.

Or you could just say that all the numbers are powers of 2, and 131072 = 2^17, and all of the numbers cant fit, because it is bigger than the playboard.
When the 4 spawns there's nothing to combine it with since the next smallest possible power of 2 is an 8. All the other powers of 2 fills the board. With 2 you can still combine it with another 2.
while it sounds "correct", it's not a proof, proving would require a construction regression function, and that is not a way to deliver it to the general public.

I remember a couple years ago when I was back in school and I had one of those science calculators which you could download games on to. Was sitting in my final math exam before graduation and having finished the exam early, I was playing 2048 on my calculator. I remember getting the 2048 block for my first ever time and then looking up at the timer for the math exam to see 3 seconds left. I walked out that hall with the hardest boner of my life.
My strategy is to not press the up button. Beat the game so many times not pressing it. My 2048 game only goes until I get 2048, so I can't go past it.
The prove for the maximum power of two is simple: 1) You only can make a power of two 2^n if you made a power of two 2^(n-1) before. 2) There is 16 squares in the board, then theoretically you can make at maximum 2^16 = 65536, but, is possible that a 4 spawn in the last square and due it the power grow up to 2^17. 3) Is not possible to make a power of two greater than 2^17, else the sequence of power of twos in the board will have the 8 as the lower power of two and its impossible with a full board. Therefore, 2^17 is the maximum possible power of two to make in this game;

Anyone that understand maths or binary knew where this was going from early on. There are only so many squares on the board. 2^16 is 65536. But the RNG in the game (whether the new tile will be a 2 or a 4) allows this score. 65536*2 = 131072. Thank you for taking the time to show this. The only thing I was curious about was whether you would let it end on a 2 or a 4 lol. Grats on the 4.
The game has roughly 90.9090% to spawn a 2, 9.0909% to spawn a 4 (both recurring) and the remaining % to spawn an 8. A higher scoring tile is possible, just extremely rare.

I may explain: You have 16 tiles on which you can play. Every time you move, the next block will spawn. It may have a value of 2 or 4 in a rarer odd. Also those new blocks may spawn on any blank tile. In the game, you merge blocks to the fitting ones and you have probably noticed that you often have a path of blocks merging, which leads you to the highest valued one. It often ends up with you building a merging snake path, which goes to the highest scored block on the corner. You have to count on the new blocks spawning on the perfect locations and with the numbers you intend, so you can keep merging the blocks on a limited count of the tiles. Here you have an asolutely RNG-perfect run, where the two last tiles are occupied by 2 4's (one already merged from the old 2's and the second one just spawned in a rare odd). Then, you merge the two 4's into eight, which leaves you with two eights ready to be merged and a just spawned block, which doesn't matter. So on, you merge the next larger blocks and you end up with 2 powered by 17 (the count of all tiles plus one, which stands for the oddly spawned additionat power of 2), which is 131072 2048 RNG perfect run explained
2048 requires 10 blocks, each time u want to upgrade you would need one extra block, and since the game itself has 16 blocks max that is 131k (6 stages after 2048)
This is not the highest score, actually, because every time a four spawns, you lose out on points. Four, specifically, because you lack the ability to merge twos together. the actual max, i believe, is around over 3.9 million. You would have to restrict any four from spawning until making the 131072 tile and every next biggest tile after.
flawlessgenius No, but you get more points by spawing twos. Spawning a four causes you to miss out on merging two twos that spawned, thus losing you points. Fours aren't very infrequent, so you do lose out on quite a bit of points.
what is the chance of not ever getting fours though? You're probably thinking that these are true random occurrences, but it's quite likely that the pseudo-random code will always generate some fours.
Siddharth Chauhan - 2048 is easy, and if you are not unlucky, it is extremely easy to get, but 4096 seems hard and requires a lot of luck. But that might be me sucking at this game
This is only 2^17. At 2^32 you get the bit number of processors we have used for a long time, and at 2^64, in seconds you have a number longer than the life span of the universe. If stacked paper so it doubles each time, at 2^100 doubling, you would have a piece of paper that could only be measured in light-years
2^64 seconds is not how long the universe will last. that's 18.446 quintillion seconds, or 584 billion years. the heat death of the universe is expected at around 10^100 years
If you keep all tiles to the side, then you might end up getting that right off the bat, so I'm not surprised you didn't realize how tough that was, you should try playing again and see if you can still do it

So you already have 4 points when you have your first 4 tile. Because of that you are missing out on a few points everytime a 4 spawns and you dont redo it

@@derdyon7576 Still, by the law of averages he is very close to the highest score. Lets say a 4 spawns 10% of the time. Then the more moves he makes the closer the score will be to the 'average' score for the number of moves he made. This getting more accurate the more moves he makes. To get a score like that you need hundreds of thousands if not millions of moves on the screen, so it will average out to a very high degree of accuracy by the time he reaches the maximum score. Still theoretically you could literally reverse the move every time a 4 spawns and get a 2 instead, I guess then you could get a reasonably higher score. But if another player played in the same manner that he did(how the game was designed to be played) they would get the same score more or less
You know you could have just done math and not wasted so much time You need 2 2s then a 4,8,16,32,64,128,256 so on and after you reach a total of 16 numbers you know that's the highest score possible
It's not as easy as you think, they may have the highest possible score extremely high away. They might be secretly updating the game to add more numbers, we will not know for sure.
to all the people struggling getting to 2048 or beyond, it's really easy 1. always keep the highest number tile in the bottom right or left corner. 2. never swipe upwards unless that is your only possible choice. main rule, you can only swipe three directions, left, right and down. 3. the tile with the second highest number should be right next to the highest number tile. the tile with the third highest number should be next to the second highest one etc. they should always be arranged in order of size. 4. keep the bottom row full of tiles at all times - meaning no empty spaces ever in that row. this allows you to keep your tiles in the correct order always. 5. you're a champ go get that 2048 girl sincerely i've wasted too much of my life on this app

He played in PRACTICE mode. So he can undo whenever he wants. Thus this technically can't call 'cheat'. Because the game provides this mode. It say in description. Btw.
According to my high levels of methematics, you can only achieve the theorical best score by getting only 2s and not 4s until 65536, where you need a 4 every time you have a full screen
The highest number you could reliably get to is 65,536 because getting to 131,072 would rely solely on luck. So the game dispenses 2s the majority of the time and 4s the minority I believe it's 2 90% probability and 4 10% probability, so the numbers would be 65,536 divide the numbers down to the 4 of course and if you get 131,072 depends on the luck of the game dispensing a 4 and not a 2 so basically there is no skill to getting to 131,072, only luck
Actually- A friend of mine somehow glitched the game and it started spawning in 4096 tiles or higher- She wasn't even trying to glitch it it just happened ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
lets do some quk maf here. all the numbers ( 2+2^2+2^3...) ==262,141 so if we assume that you get a 4 EVERY TIME and he/she doesnt fail ONCE then its 65535.5 moves, if they somehow do one move every second then that takes 1092.25~ minutes or 18.2 Hours. HOWEVER IF 90% of the tiles u get are 2, and 10% are 4 (Like in 2048) then it would be around 22 points per 10 moves, instead of 40 points. Sooooo.... that means that if no mistakes are made, then it takes around 81.12% longer..... soooooooo it would take around 33.09 hours, again, WITH NO ERRORS WHATSOEVER. HOLY JESUS THATS LIKE A LOT OF TIMES Edit: Please like cause that took me like 10 mins to do...
If you REALLY do want to do this yourself, practice clocking the 3×3 game. I stuffed up the 4×4, then satisfied myself with completing several 3×3's, and it made the 4×4 so much easier to clock. Score of 3,887,764. I was expecting a huge fight in the endgame, but it was surprisingly easy, a bit of an anti-climax even. Now I don't want to clear that screen.

You have 16 tiles on which you can play. Every time you move, the next block will spawn. It may have a value of 2 or 4 in a rarer odd. Also those new blocks may spawn on any blank tile. In the game, you merge blocks to the fitting ones and you have probably noticed that you often have a path of blocks merging, which leads you to the highest valued one. It often ends up with you building a merging snake path, which goes to the highest scored block on the corner. You have to count on the new blocks spawning on the perfect locations and with the numbers you intend, so you can keep merging the blocks on a limited count of the tiles. Here you have an asolutely RNG-perfect run, where the two last tiles are occupied by 2 4's (one already merged from the old 2's and the second one just spawned in a rare odd). Then, you merge the two 4's into eight, which leaves you with two eights ready to be merged and a just spawned block, which doesn't matter. So on, you merge the next larger blocks and you end up with 2 powered by 17 (the count of all tiles plus one, which stands for the oddly spawned additionat power of 2), which is 131072

2048 requires 10 blocks, each time u want to upgrade you would need one extra block, and since the game itself has 16 blocks max that is 131k (6 stages after 2048)

This is not the highest score, actually, because every time a four spawns, you lose out on points. Four, specifically, because you lack the ability to merge twos together. the actual max, i believe, is around over 3.9 million. You would have to restrict any four from spawning until making the 131072 tile and every next biggest tile after.

flawlessgenius No, but you get more points by spawing twos. Spawning a four causes you to miss out on merging two twos that spawned, thus losing you points. Fours aren't very infrequent, so you do lose out on quite a bit of points.
what is the chance of not ever getting fours though? You're probably thinking that these are true random occurrences, but it's quite likely that the pseudo-random code will always generate some fours.

This is only 2^17. At 2^32 you get the bit number of processors we have used for a long time, and at 2^64, in seconds you have a number longer than the life span of the universe. If stacked paper so it doubles each time, at 2^100 doubling, you would have a piece of paper that could only be measured in light-years
2^64 seconds is not how long the universe will last. that's 18.446 quintillion seconds, or 584 billion years. the heat death of the universe is expected at around 10^100 years

@@blueslime5855 no what I meant is that when you start the game and you get a 4 you have 0 points and already got a 4 tile. But when you start with 2 2 tiles you get to combine them. So you already have 4 points when you have your first 4 tile. Because of that you are missing out on a few points everytime a 4 spawns and you dont redo it

@@derdyon7576 Still, by the law of averages he is very close to the highest score. Lets say a 4 spawns 10% of the time. Then the more moves he makes the closer the score will be to the 'average' score for the number of moves he made. This getting more accurate the more moves he makes. To get a score like that you need hundreds of thousands if not millions of moves on the screen, so it will average out to a very high degree of accuracy by the time he reaches the maximum score. Still theoretically you could literally reverse the move every time a 4 spawns and get a 2 instead, I guess then you could get a reasonably higher score. But if another player played in the same manner that he did(how the game was designed to be played) they would get the same score more or less

You need 2 2s then a 4,8,16,32,64,128,256 so on and after you reach a total of 16 numbers you know that's the highest score possible
It's not as easy as you think, they may have the highest possible score extremely high away. They might be secretly updating the game to add more numbers, we will not know for sure.

You can start with 4, not 2
to all the people struggling getting to 2048 or beyond, it's really easy
1. always keep the highest number tile in the bottom right or left corner.
2. never swipe upwards unless that is your only possible choice. main rule, you can only swipe three directions, left, right and down.
3. the tile with the second highest number should be right next to the highest number tile. the tile with the third highest number should be next to the second highest one etc. they should always be arranged in order of size.
4. keep the bottom row full of tiles at all times - meaning no empty spaces ever in that row. this allows you to keep your tiles in the correct order always.

According to my high levels of methematics, you can only achieve the theorical best score by getting only 2s and not 4s until 65536, where you need a 4 every time you have a full screen
This is where the undo button comes in handy
The highest number you could reliably get to is 65,536 because getting to 131,072 would rely solely on luck. So the game dispenses 2s the majority of the time and 4s the minority I believe it's 2 90% probability and 4 10% probability, so the numbers would be 65,536 divide the numbers down to the 4 of course and if you get 131,072 depends on the luck of the game dispensing a 4 and not a 2 so basically there is no skill to getting to 131,072, only luck
Actually- A friend of mine somehow glitched the game and it started spawning in 4096 tiles or higher- She wasn't even trying to glitch it it just happened ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's amazing! I started using this strategy of keeping the highest number on the lower right corner, and got my highest score.
I always thought the highest tile would be 2048
And I got 8192 in this game, and also this journey haven't come to an end yet...
lets do some quk maf here. all the numbers ( 2+2^2+2^3...) ==262,141 so if we assume that you get a 4 EVERY TIME and he/she doesnt fail ONCE then its 65535.5 moves, if they somehow do one move every second then that takes 1092.25~ minutes or 18.2 Hours. HOWEVER IF 90% of the tiles u get are 2, and 10% are 4 (Like in 2048) then it would be around 22 points per 10 moves, instead of 40 points. Sooooo.... that means that if no mistakes are made, then it takes around 81.12% longer..... soooooooo it would take around 33.09 hours, again, WITH NO ERRORS WHATSOEVER.

If you REALLY do want to do this yourself, practice clocking the 3×3 game. I stuffed up the 4×4, then satisfied myself with completing several 3×3's, and it made the 4×4 so much easier to clock. Score of 3,887,764. I was expecting a huge fight in the endgame, but it was surprisingly easy, a bit of an anti-climax even. Now I don't want to clear that screen.
