Do you know something about scars on undead captains?
I got a lot with black burned skin, but they didn't die, they just got downed by fire.
Same with poison, but I don't really know what's up with that
That's odd. Are you sure you have the upgrade? It never failed me. If you have the upgrade, then it might have bugged out for you that time.
Bene Why, I haven't digged too much into scars for followers yet, let alone undead captains. But eventually, I will.

Okay, I just thought it's pretty interesting because they don't even need to die in order to get the scar.
Yeah, try using Shadow Strike. Drain only the Invulnerable to Ranged + Fearless captains. Also, if you encounter an Invulnerable to Ranged + Battle-Hardened + Fearless, grab and drain him.
This is stupidly useful... Wow, wish I'd known this trick several playthroughs earlier!
Gotta love when captains cheats death six times that’s the ones you want for your army lol. Also this does work. Makes fights easier.
Something tells that terrify effect from killing 2 or more grunts in Elven Rage will be patched :/
Everyone, I have a trick for defeating overlords.
First you have to make sure its a normal uruk. No olog crap.
Next you have to see that they are NOT immune to arrows.
Then you have to have shadow strike pull equipped.
When you are in the throne room, run up one of the towers where the archers are shooting, or just shadow strike an archer.
Then pull up the overlord with shadow strike pull. You will only have to deal with him and archers now.
Finally, kill that overlord, and take the fortress.
SandmanBagel You can also Shadow Strike Pull Olog.
Sebastian Isaiah seperate skill needed or no?
No additional skill needed, just the Shadow Pull upgrade as Sandman suggested.
is this true ive tried this many times and the pull did not happen i assumed this was so overlords could not be cheesed
Sebastian Isaiah how? I don't see the skill, pull olog would help me LOADS in shadow wars, for the olog warchiefs. Unless you worded yourself wrong.
Wait, how did you encounter a level 65 Captain at level 2 so early in the game?
I let him kill me a few times. In gravewalker they level up really fast for killing you.

I remember one time an orc ambushed me, so I called some grunt for backup and one of them ran up and Insta killed him. I wish I could promote grunts cuz he deserved it
I mean a pretty solid way of killing everything with ease is a full set of Marauder weps, with the Marauder Armour and then ethier Brightlord or Outlaw Cloak and Ring.
Idk why you would want to instantly defeat a captain. Where's the fun in that?
Like I said in the video, sometimes captains get much higher levels than yours. Those guys might end up in a story mission and make it impossible for you to make any progress, so you can just kill him outside of it. Also, Online Conquest, saves a lot of time, and not to mention all the hacked captains that exist on PC.
However, if you don't feel like using it, you don't have to.
I understand that this.."method"..might come in handy for others, but I enjoyed fighting a captain over and over again, exploiting its weaknesses, because it made the victory much better!
Do you guys think SoW lived up to the hype?

Not really but its still kinda fun. My only problem is the microtransactions and how stupid the orcs are when fighting each other in the fight pits
derpywaffle 247 the uruks have always been stupid even in the previous game they would either do really slow attacks or let themselves get hit
At least in Shadow of Mordor, If you brutalize two uruks, maybe 3, in quick succession, (I brutalize, then use bow slow time to catch up to fleeing targets instantly, it will terrify a captain or warcheif, it may work on shadow of war.
Do the glitches only work on grave walker difficulty? I'm playing on the first version of the game so there's no grave walker difficulty

Remember that this trick won't work after Act III, sadly. For Shadow Wars, you will have to rely on more traditional terror tactics to scare off captains, anway.
Uruk's Hollow I think he meant that he wished he knew this to get to level 60 before the end of act 2 and then do the shadow wars easily.

Ah started a new game too eh? Well if you didn't know already, lemme share what I discovered.
Any of your barracks? They're still there. So you can bring your OG follower (if you still got them) and get another copy of him. They may have different traits for example my first guy had fear to poison but the new one took increased damage from poison instead.
Chests too so you can get high lvl gear from the beginning
If you start the mission in which you get your Follower new, he can get better stats.
So try a few times than you will get an op uruk
I'm surprised that you managed to get level 65 captains at the start. The gondorians and forthog kept killing the orcs that downed me.
Also, is it just me, or does forthog ALWAYS save you when you don't want/need him to?

That's why I chose an archer for the demonstration. If they are about to kill me with an arrow, I won't get saved. Otherwise, yeah, always the unwanted saviors.

Indirectly, yes. Captains level up a lot faster, which results in more XP. Mostly referring to Gravewalker here.
For example, when I did Nemesis, I would usually reach Shadow Wars as a lvl40. When I did Gravewalker, I was lvl52 when I got to the same part of he game.
I am at level 80 and am having a heck of a time beating an overlord in the battle chamber to reclaim my territory. He is Ur-Lasu the Endless and he is only level 56 but he is arrow proof, poison proof, fire proof, frost proof and he spawns poison spiders that poison me every time I try to attack him. When I charge up execution it does next to no damage to him, and he heals himself. He is vulnerable to stealth, but it is impossible to hide from him in the battle chamber. I have tried multiple Bodyguards, Carrogors and Graugs and none of them are of any real help. Any ideas?
Does anybody know file extraction tools? I'm looking to export, edit, then reimport in-game models.

What do you think of the Gravewalker difficulty? I remember you saying the game is still too easy as you gain more powers, does the new difficulty provide a constant challenge?
I died 73 times in Gravewalker, as opposed to just 1 in Nemesis. So I'll say it is indeed a decent challenge. Though, I don't recommend it for players who have tough times on Nemesis.
I agree, nemesis was wayyyy too easy. I only died when I did something stupid, never when the game was actually difficult

Nothing relevant to this but, i though in order for forthog to save you you needed the Dlc? I never bought a thing in my life, standard edition game, he saved me from a warchief during shadow wars stage 9... I was actually TRYING to die because i can surprisingly take over a fort a LOT faster then defending, and i was running low on "power" i can take over a level 500+ fortress by myself, removing all allies, but forthog said no...

I started watching your vids a few days back, and just two minutes ago I finished trials of war on SOM and when I checked the leaderboard you are 6 places in front and 1 point ahead of me, so lol.

No, you would need to restart the game unfortunately. The only other way to experience it is via redoing story missions or the Celebrimbor challenges but you don’t get to keep it
Does this work in online conquest? Would be a great way to get through it quickly
It does work as long as you are playing them pre-Act IV.
Does anybody know how to give an orc a wraith scar
Use AoE wraith powers, such as Elven Light or Talon Strike. Ice Storm also works. Or you can kill them with curse.

But what i want to know is how you made him level 65 when you're a level 4?
I let him kill me a few times. Since I was on Gravewalker, he gained 10+ levels each time.
This is not working anymore. Does it have to be in Gravewalker difficulty?

I have a question about the DLC tribes. So far, no one seems to be able to answer me or just doesn't want to. It's about the Tribal Warband, the mission where 3 Slaughter/Outlaw Captains and 3 Random Captains fight. I tried for no reason to make the DLC Tribe win every single one of them. They did, but now, 2/3 Captains are either Slaughter or Outlaw. Is this related or am I going nuts ?
Did you very recently install the DLC? The game forces a high number of DLC captain spawns shortly after you install it to get you to meet some of the new guys. Could be that.
Uruk's Hollow Maybe, since Dead Sun, Dead Wood and the Stone spawned in Seregost. But I installed the DLC the day it came out, since I have the gold edition.

White skin, black veins, glowing orange or yellow eyes. Same as purified.

At what point should I activate elven rage? I’m not getting it to work. Am I not killing enough grunts or does the captain need to recognize me first?
It could be that he is not looking at you when you execute grunts. You only need one execution.
Or it could be that you ran into a captain with Fearless (this trait is hidden). These captains are extremely rare. If this is indeed the case, then you were unlucky.
Uruk's Hollow does he need to go through the verbal recognition that he sees you first? Or can you just start killing grunts before the cutscene?
You can kill grunts at any time. His dialogue is not necessary.
Is there a type of execution I need to use ? Do I hold down x? I’m not performing the same executions you’re pulling off in the video. I activate elven rage but the hold x attack seems to only want to hit the captain.

Just bought the game Wednesday and i want to know how to get fast legendary gear, i have everything except the ring on legendary but as i advance rare gear is getting stronger than my legendary
Legendaries will sometimes spawn in the open world, as well as in the fight pits.
A Captain that kills you several times and becomes Overlord of the region has a very high chance of becoming Legendary.
You can try getting some legendary scars in some captains, then kill them again for their gear.
You could also get Legendary gear from Conquest Chests. These are the rewards for winning an Online Conquest. Also, you get Spoils of War chests by playing this mode, These are the same as Gold Chests, and include at least one Legendary follower you can destroy for gear.
And about Epic being better than your Legendaries, this is the product of Legendary upgrades being so far apart from each other. Not much one can do about it until you get the proper level to upgrade it.
Uruk's Hollow thx for the quick answer! So can legendary scars spawn several times? Like the machine, he almost killed me but a gondorian soldier killed him first and i wabt him back, same goes for the tower
So far, the only Legendary scar that seens to happen more than once is the Poisoned one. I have had people show me that they got two, although very far apart from each other timewise. I think this might happen because that scar has three titles, unlike all others, which only have one.
And since your guy got killed in a savior moment, I think that sadly he won't be back.

Usually defenders and berserkers. If they have immune to arrows, fast learner and frost proof they’re very strong
I'd say a savage berserker is the strongest. Mainly being because they have Rampage, which destroys Talion's and any orcs health. If you wanna recruit one, you should probably make him your body guard or overlord

Savage Berserkers with vault breaker (or maybe with fast adaption or no chance). Oh an poison, lots of poison.

i seem to be having much more captain cheating death in this game than in SOM. i think one orc has done it atleast 4 times now.
spooky raidr watch out for the ones that cheat above 5, that's where their weaknesses start to vanish
