Fun fact: Following the "Cold" name line, Kuriza is a word in Brazil (Coriza) that is when your nostril are obstruct when it's a cold weather.
It’s also a reference to the Japanese word for chestnut, _Kuribo,_ hence the chestnut shape of his head.
That's the thing with toriyama, he drew a lot of his character's names for the most part from themes using puns or words from other languages, while usually sticking to the theme.

It’s never been stated they’re justice warriors just that frieza’s family starting with his Father were mutants Among their race which is way frieza specifically is that strong. He’s the Broly of his race so by that we can assume they were weak and killed off by frieza or Cold.
