Balut & Penoy is best to eat when its hot or freshly steamed paired with vinegar sauce with some garlic, onion and red hot chilli pepper . ♥️ Iam a Filipino and I can feel both WOO&LEE .. I can't eat the duck part for my 24 years of existence .. 😅 only the white-yellow part and the soup .. And I really envy Mr.Smith for eating a whole balut bravely and finished it first. 👏🏻 If you don't want to eat the "BALUT" you can try the 16 day old version or "PENOY" . I remember when I was young then my auntie brought me to the night market in Manila we eat together penoy with a lot of spiced vinegar in a cup but my auntie is gone now so really missed that old days...T__T

Balut's are meant to be eaten with vinegar and eaten as a whole. Dissecting it would really make you feel odd. Balut's are usually eaten in dark areas/dark corners of the streets here in the Philippines that is why you don't see people selling balut in the morning.

your mum penoy ducklings are smaller. Usually no feathers yet and completely covered by the white. As long as you don’t break the white wrapping the chick, you don’t see it therefore less gross.

Here's a technique in eating the balut, sip the broth first then pour on spicy vinegar then a pinch of salt. Dont look at it just eat the the yolk together with the baby duck.

look at them at the end of the clip! it feels like they've been tortured! lol. I don't eat it too. not all Filipinos eat it! I tried it the first time when I was 8yo, my dad told me it's going to make me stronger, but I felt like i was being tortured, lol! and I never tried it again.

I love balut with vinegar salt and onions. I think you would like it more with vinegar. Also for a softer balut ( less bones etc) I highly recommend 16days old balut
