I may be one of the few male Mark Owen fans. Seeing this man perform "Close To The Edge", watching the passion he puts into the performance just makes me respect the man even more
adamness. yeah i agree. think he did better without take that but he also did great with them. cant wait to see Elwood his son take after him when hes older. or even his daughters willo & fox. 😆
he's such a great songwriter and he seems so passionate about the music he makes and i love him so much for that, he truly deserves to be recognised as the amazing artist he is.
continuation (2) 3) Most of music journalists will NEVER admit that they like some of his solo material, well they'll always treat it at best like a "guilty pleasure" thing from a wee cute Markie. 4) His unique voice -absolutely non pop/commercial friendly is one of the main reason why he will never be seen as a good vocalist and is off putting for many people. It wouldn't be a big problem if he was widely respected for songwriting skills (like Bob Dylan)
Wow, i could cry while listening to "Close to the edge".. it´s the best version of the song I´ve ever seen. i love Markie to bits and i so hope for a new solo record one day.. Markie, you´re a genius.. Carry on! ♥
the problem with Mark's solo career is simple for me. With time he's blossomed as a very good songwriter (beautiful melodies and good lyrics) and he made a music that might appear to many alternative pop/rock fans BUT: 1) His past with TT is enough reason to put off any self respected rock fan. 2) His music doesn't reach most of TT fans - because it's too quirky, because it's not a glamorous overproduced pop. It' has organic rock vibe with lots of different and well exposed instruments.
continuation (3) Journalists and radio DJ's will never admit he's a good songwriter. Pop world had already chosen Gary Barlow as the only talented songwriter in TT. 5) some of his fans don't do him any favour too. When I see a video on YT with Mark's song and video is full of Owen's old "bare chested" from TT m1- its cringe-worthy . It's like telling everybody that you don't respect him as a musician, it's still all about his looks.I would've been embarrassed if I had such a shallow fan-base
Not to my knowledge. If it helps, on the german version of the album How the mighty fall you can find four acoustic versions. Three of them are brilliant!
joanne gale. yeah i agree. he still handsome . i admit though not as handsome as he is here but we all look uglyer as we get older .its what happends when you get to a certain age. haha!😆 no hes still handsome im only kidding. long hair now a ponytail & abit of a beard. ive seen him on instagram waiting for the djs to play out of our heads until he gets told it was played earlier than he expect , he was gutted that he missed it.i have to honest these songs hes doing live here are better.
