I think it looks great with just the two, especially if the hollies aren’t at their full-size. If I wanted uneven numbers I’d do three rather than five. Have you considered elevating the birdbath on a pedestal? That would resolve the obstruction issue, but really I think they look great now.
So glad you got rid of them, I made a comment about them a year or so ago, you didn’t like my comment. Looks so much better👍 I think I’ld bring your hydra. Away from the house more, give them some breathing room. Not good to have them so close to the house. Looks great with just the hydrangeas.
Yep, I agree with Tomikia Wells, I think it looks prefect with 4. The birdbath deserves it's place in the center. I went back to see when I started watching your channel. 5 videos in, you planted Supertunia Bubblegum/Silverberry, been enjoying your garden ever since. P.S. so sweet your husband grabbing that baby for some kisses =^)
I love the change! The hollies are perfect and the color of the jazz berries and sunflowers sets the fountain in the spotlight just right! You have such a great eye!
☀️🌼👨🌾🌻🐝🌸🦋🫑🍅🥕🥬🐝 I’m back for another update of your beautiful garden. It’s amazing to see the changes in your plants over time. I look forward to watching your garden grow! I love watching my garden grow a little each day, that is my favorite part of gardening. It’s so fun to have the growth documented over the season to look back at and see progress. I love that about being a garden RUclipsr. Let’s learn & grow more together! Thank
I love the open look with adding the hollies. I wouldn't add in a 5th one. I agree, the birdbath needs to shine here. Thank you for the terracotta pot tip. I got the last 2 at a HD store 14 miles north of me. I love that all your individual gardens have a theme. Love your videos and look forward to them. Enjoy your summer!
So glad you moved the juniper. I've always felt that they are better suited for the back of a landscape, not by the house. The holly's will be much better there. Even just the two. Can't wait to see those hydrangeas in bloom!
I was really surprised when I saw this video--I know how much you loved those junipers. Glad you repurposed them. I think the hollies are a nice change as long as they don't get too much bigger. Don't plant five; the birdbath is such a lovely feature and if you planted five it might end up looking too much like a hedge. Love the sunflowers and how they contrast with the petunias. It's looking good!
Looks great, Moya. Don’t obsess about the 3 or 5. It looks good as it is. If I were you I would divide the sedum in half (or if you have one about the same size elsewhere, move it) for the other side. Live with it this winter and see what you think. You may decide 2 is enough, or you may think something slender would work there, or something with a different color or texture foliage. (Perhaps the bargain racks will provide the perfect plants ). You have a good eye. It will be great! Hope the junipers survive the move….with all that Bio-tone you can give the roots a nice treat. They’re gorgeous and I know they’ll be great somewhere in the back….instant gratification. 👍😊💖🌺
Excellent choice! I have thought for a while those junipers were too much for that space. Also, your family is beautiful. 💜 Thank you for sharing your projects.
Oh my!! I just added junipers this year to my garden after getting inspired from you! Was deciding between native hollies versus junipers & decided on the later considering how amazing they looked in your garden. Oh well! I guess I’ll enjoy both - my junipers & your hollies! Thanks for explaining your thought process - I really enjoy your videos & how “practical” you are - I even setup my budget this year based on your early season budgeting videos & have started hanging around lowes for their clearance plants!
Hello, I could, before playing your video see that you were moving the two shrubs, and I was Loud and happy telling my husband OH GREAT I'm happy to see them gone. Great move plus I love your new picks. Also, the overall garden has grown into its own and I Love it all. 💜💜💜✨✨🎉🎉😍
I am with many others....it looks absolutely gorgeous just the way it is. If you add two more Hollies it may look overcrowded. Remember the Hollies will grow too. Love that you did the Sunflowers behind it is gorgeous now and will look even better in a month when those sunflowers and petunias are bigger. Great Job!
0:48 LOL your face, I know the feeling. Reminds me of a time my mom and I had just divided and transplanted some hydrangeas, we were babying them. My dad comes along with his big feet to look at something going on with the hose, tramples the poor baby hydrangea with all it's new growth flat to the ground lol. We made the same face as you in that clip 😂
Yeah ... I have always wondered if you would take these out due to their size - they are gorgeous plants but, in my humble opinion, have outgrown the space. It's so open & lovely, and waiting for something new & exciting. Well done !!!
wow! you have an incredible eye for garden design! I loved what you ended up doing, looks amazing! I can’t wait to see all the plants in that area grow! 😍
I love, love love the balance in your plan with 4 of the hollies! The birdbath takes the place of a 5th holly (balance-wise), so adding another holly would make it crowded I think. Junipers are cool shrubs and nice to have the structure over the winter, but I think after a certain amount of time they get too big to be next to the house. Can't wait to see everything fill in!
I love the junipers but I’m glad you moved them. Too big for the space. Those compact hollies are nice along with the other plants. I feel that the 2 is enough, as to give the hydrangeas and everything else space to grow. Can’t wait to see where the junipers got rehomed 💞
I like being able to see that beautiful statue now. So much better. The round shrubs are perfect for the area and the yellow sunflowers will be a nice pop of color without crowding the space. I see your vision and it looks good. Plus I had no idea you had 3 hydrangeas in back of the 2 shrubs you removed. I should have known since you love hydrangeas so much. Looking good, clean and open. Happy gardening!
I LOVED those junipers with the bird bath… I don’t have my own home or garden (I garden in my sisters yard) but I have dreamed about having junipers with a birdbath like yours when I do have my own space.. 😊♥️
Just beautiful! Your love for gardening shines through in everything you plant and all the work you do in the gardens surrounding your home. Thank you for all the videos you share. It is such a joy to watch you create these beautiful spaces in your yard.
I agree with the other comments. it looks great with just the two. you have such an amazing eye for landscaping. I can't wait to see the area when it is fills in. 👍👍
I love it just like it is! Gorgeous! So sweet to see your baby girl get some loving from her Daddy. You have a great eye for Design. I’ve on occasion like you had some of my shrubs get really large & I just trim up & they become shrub trees.😂😂 Your soil looks so rich. Mine is yucky red clay with tons o small rocks in it. I’m forever adding compost. TFS!! Hugs & Blessings!❤️❤️🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️
I love the dimension the hollies add, and I don't think you need to add a fifth to make it work. When working in symmetry you can toss the odds rule out the window. But even if not, doing what makes you happy is way more important than any 'rule' Gorgeous as always my friend!
Girl my Hollie’s were over six feet tall when I had them removed!! No worries they were about thirty years old or more! Looks great good luck and happy growing.
Moya I loved the junipers but these looks so much better. You can definitely use them somewhere else cause they are beautiful. But I love your new refresh. And I agree with u , u don’t need 5 . We can see up your bird bath better. I think it looks great with just the 2 actually. Great job!
Your beautiful bird bath is the focal point. I prefer your layout so no need for another in front of it. Your garden is coming along beautiful! Thank you for sharing. 🤗
Moyaaaa...so glad you removed the junipers. I had suggested that a couple of years ago, and I almost got my head bit off...jk! As beautiful as they were, they were just taking up too much valuable real estate and bullying everything else out. . Your front bed is truly open now, where you can plant and add color to your heart's content. I also agree with another comment that it looks fine with two, five might be a bit crowded. Again, love your hubby's interaction with you and the kids. Many blessings!
My childhood home had junipers that reached the roof of our ranch home. It’s good that you took them out. I would keep it to two bushes and not add the others. It is looking great the way it is. Good job on your design!
I just really love you and the hubby and the babies just enjoying and working together! It's a whole vibe! Yass honey!! 🌸🌼💮 I agree totally about the junipers! I didn't even know u had hydrangeas back there! 😅😅
It will be lovely, friend, and already is! Change can be hard, sometime it takes boldness to do it, but we all should do what seems right for our own gardens. Loving seeing it come together! Thank you for sharing! xo
I like it. It looks neater. I love the junipers too. But I see sometumes change does make things better. Plus you will repurpose them. Great job as always. I have to remove one and repurpose it in my garden but I have NO IDEA where to put it.
It looks great! I would only do two on each side. The bird bath in the middle creates a structure of 5 to make it pleasing to the eye. Or just leave it with one on each side. Nice job!
Love it.ive gotten eye rolls moving mature plants but hey if it isn't working CHANGE IT TILL YOU LOVE IT. you put alot of thought in your plans and walk us through TOTALLY SEE YOUR VISION. BLESSINGS FOR A FANTASTIC YEAR.
This combo is going to be perfect for your theme! I loved seeing the shots that show each of the gardens to either side with the front bed. You can see your entire theme coming together in a beautiful flush of color.
WOW! Looks amazing! I agree that you can even get away with just the 2 hollies and then you can some thing else where the other 2 would have gone! Love the 🌻!!
I think you made a good decision to go with two of the hollies. Like it very much as know from experience junipers grow large and the longer in the ground the hard they are to remove. Happy Gardening to you and your husband.
Oh no, not the junipers! I love them! They were my favorite! So sorry to see them go. I will be looking for them though in another part of your garden. You do beautiful work, keep it up!!!
Looks much better! I would be tempted to stick with just the two Hollies and throw in a couple smaller purple or red shrubs.
Me too ,it will be too crowded,I think w more then 2,because there’s other beautiful plants around 😀
Yeah like loropetalum
Plug for husband. What a great man you have.
I love how involved your husband is and that kiss with the baby was adorable. I can't wait to see your garden grow!
I think the bird bath acts as your 5th element there and it looks awesome.
I agree,I thought the same thing about the birdbath.
Stick with two. Otherwise it will be over crowded, especially if they grow. Looks amazing! 🌱🌱🌱🌱💕🌸
I think it looks great with just the two, especially if the hollies aren’t at their full-size. If I wanted uneven numbers I’d do three rather than five. Have you considered elevating the birdbath on a pedestal? That would resolve the obstruction issue, but really I think they look great now.
I'm with roslyn, just two. But it is your garden 😉
I seriously like it with just the 2! Very pretty
So glad you got rid of them, I made a comment about them a year or so ago, you didn’t like my comment. Looks so much better👍 I think I’ld bring your hydra. Away from the house more, give them some breathing room. Not good to have them so close to the house. Looks great with just the hydrangeas.
I’m glad you moved those junipers, I thought all along they were taking away from all the beautiful plants you have in that area!
Looks great. Your husband is one of the good ones. It's always great to see you working together in the garden. Great job you two!
Yep, I agree with Tomikia Wells, I think it looks prefect with 4. The birdbath deserves it's place in the center. I love the change! The hollies are perfect and the color of the jazz berries and sunflowers sets the fountain in the spotlight just right! You have such a great eye!
It really does look wonderfully balanced with just the 4 and the birdbath, you made an amazing garden bed plan💕
Thank you 😊

Your twins are adorable! Nice strong husband helping you out. Beautiful!
I LOVE it!!! Totally agree with the decision to remove the junipers. Definitely don't do 5 of the hollys, it will be perfect with 2 on each side!
The birdbath is too beautiful to hide👍
I like it with just the two Hollie’s. Your birdbath is the fifth element.
I see the vision ❤️ I LOVE the Hollies; two look perfect! Can’t wait to see where you put the Junipers.
Thank you for being such a breath of fresh air!. Your beautiful gardens out shine the ugly in the world today!. God Bless and your blooms of beauty.
So happy to hear that you are going to relocate the junipers. Good luck with adding something new. 2 on each side of the birdbath looks nice.
Excellent choice! I have thought for a while those junipers were too much for that space.
Also, your family is beautiful. 💜 Thank you for sharing your projects.
You feed my soul, girl!!! Love your positive affirmations!

Did you plant the same junipers at her? If so, what kind were they? I'd love to add these to my landscape. Junipers do really well in my area.
I could imediately see the difference when he pulled them out!! Wow!! Great choice. Hello hydrangeas!!

Hard work pays off! Just lovely...GREAT JOB TO YOU BOTH! Adorable daughter. 💖
Yeah ... I have always wondered if you would take these out due to their size - they are gorgeous plants but, in my humble opinion, have outgrown the space. It's so open & lovely, and waiting for something new & exciting. Well done !!!
wow! that freed up so much planting space🌿
That was a great decision. I hope the juniper flourish somewhere else 🌿💕
I'm loving the change Moya. 👍👍👍

the bird bath is beautiful!! Thanks Moya🥰👍
Looks amazing! You and your husband always do such a great job.
I see the vision. The garden looks beautiful. Happy gardening 👩🏾🌾.
I am so glad you removed the Junipers. I thought they were overwhelming the space. I think you will enjoy the new space.
I love it!! I think even just the two looks great.
I love your garden. the transformations are amazing and you should be so so proud of yourself. nothing but love❣

Very nice, Moya. It does look amazing. We changed a few of our flower beds this year and the change is nice!❤️
Much better! Now the statue is the focal point.

The 2 hollies and 1 hibiscus give you the odd number on either side of the birdbath and look nice to me. Thanks for your inspiration!
Your beautiful bird bath is the focal point. I prefer your layout so no need for another in front of it. Your garden is coming along beautiful! Thank you for sharing. 🤗
I love the symmetry of two holly there! Also they created a step down from hydranges.

What a lovely husband to help 🙌
I like the boxwoods there too. Nice move. When the video started I was in shocked I said wow bold move but afterwards. I likey.
LOVE IT! Stick with the 4 junipers,, it looks amazing.
The structure of the birdbath takes the place of the hollies visually. Looks great.
Love the Jupiter’s relocated! U really can show off the bird bath now n the front is really opened up♥️♥️ shout out to the husband helping 👏 👏 👏
My childhood home had junipers that reached the roof of our ranch home. It’s good that you took them out. I would keep it to two bushes and not add the others. It is looking great the way it is. Good job on your design!

Nice edit Moya. I am loving the layering and the sunflowers will add that certain touch of cheerfulness!😍💚🌿
Love!! This looks so beautiful!!💕💕
Beautiful! Your husband is always so helpful ! Sweet. Some Baptisia would look great 👍 n between too
Beautiful 💚 ps-I was a follower when garden answer had as many subs as you. Now they have 1mil+ Love your videos 🌸🌸🌸
It will be lovely, friend, and already is! Change can be hard, sometime it takes boldness to do it, but we all should do what seems right for our own gardens. Loving seeing it come together! Thank you for sharing! xo
You have good instincts...looks lovely.
I think the birdbath is the 5th number anyway. It looks great just as you've planned it. 😊👍👍
I like it. It looks neater. I love the junipers too. But I see sometumes change does make things better. Plus you will repurpose them. Great job as always. I have to remove one and repurpose it in my garden but I have NO IDEA where to put it.
Little one getting kisses from daddy; thats precious.🥰
Your soil looks like its getting richer.
Yes, years of adding leaf compost. Remember how it use to be ugly clay 😫😫😫
Thank you for sharing. I love gardening just like you.
It looks great! I would only do two on each side. The bird bath in the middle creates a structure of 5 to make it pleasing to the eye. Or just leave it with one on each side. Nice job!
Looks so much better. Great idea👍
Moya those two compacta hollies will grow and fill in that area nicely. I wouldn't overcrowd it. Nice job!

That looks so much better girl. I was thinking that they were taking over that area when you were planting the Jazzberry petunias.
This combo is going to be perfect for your theme! I loved seeing the shots that show each of the gardens to either side with the front bed. You can see your entire theme coming together in a beautiful flush of color.
Liking what I see, so happy for you!
WOW! Looks amazing! I agree that you can even get away with just the 2 hollies and then you can some thing else where the other 2 would have gone! Love the 🌻!!
I think this was great idea! I definitely would do the four hollys for sure.
The garden looks good n beautiful.
Love to see the process. Awesome job!
I am in love with that bird bath.
So missed you. Pray all is well. Stay safe.
Your garden, your plans... love the bird bath right where it is....just sayin... Sunflowers 🙌🙌✌️✌️
I love It sis! Always a good inspiration watching your channel! I’m in Baltimore as well.
Don't worry about the "rules" -- trust your design instincts, they are good!
We see the vision love…very nice.
I think you made a good decision to go with two of the hollies. Like it very much as know from experience junipers grow large and the longer in the ground the hard they are to remove. Happy Gardening to you and your husband.
Very sweet! That will look great and help when the hydrangeas are dormant. Great thinking 😍
I had no idea your junipers were so big. They looked so nice and healthy. Bu sure and shoe us where you put them.
Oh no, not the junipers! I love them! They were my favorite! So sorry to see them go. I will be looking for them though in another part of your garden. You do beautiful work, keep it up!!!
You bet I see the vison, four is perfect. Love the yellow and seeing the bird bath.
LOOK MUCH BETTER AMIGA 👏🌸💕
