0:51 Efra “All Of Us Are Dead” isn’t a sequel of “Train to Busan”, it was adapted from a webtoon (web+cartoon) that came out in 2009. As for the reason why it happens at the school seems pretty evident if you have watched the entier series also the Korean title of “All Of Us Are Dead” is “Jigeum uri Hakgyoneun” which translates to Now at Our School.
There are actually a lot BL Kdramas these days, it's improving! They are mostly short though but we'll get there :)
Thailand, Taiwan and Japan do have bigger content in this industry. Especially Thailand.
If we go for a BL Kdrama, Semantic Error is currently going on, or First Love Again and Cherry Blossoms After Winter will air tomorrow it's first Ep.
Korea is still very close minded but you can actually see a great change :))

I watched Cherry Blossoms After Winter today and I loved the first episode, I'm so excited!
Efra just watched episode 1 so it makes sense but it gets bigger.
Just like someone else said, BL dramas are much more common in thailand and japan(these are the ones I know). More recently there have been some BL kdramas announced, but they tend to be very short. Thailand BL drama can be very good and have you dying of laughter or crying 😭😅. Y'all should react to "thai BL being thai BL / BL crack" by bluesaekie, is a copilation of funny and crack moments in Thai BL 😂😂
Efra please continue watching All Of Us Are Dead. The first episode may make you question a lot of stuffs like "Why it only takes place in a school?" But tm it gets bigger in every episode.
Korea has actually been releasing a lot of BLs since 2020, and specially in February of this year, like 4 new BL dramas were released. Even if they still have a very small audience (domestically) and not that much backup from big production companies, they are coming in strong! I personally recommend To My Star (Which will have a second season being released this year), Light on Me (the korean BL with the longest runtime for now: 16 episodes of 15-30 min each), and Semantic Error (Which is airing right now)
there's korean bl dramas but they're short and web-based, so nothing like the epic k-dramas we all know hahah but still, some are pretty good, and funny!!! one of my recent faves is "tinted with you", the leader of A.C.E, Jun, is one of the leads and istg the humor is on point

I can totally relate to this. Recently my brother has completed the kdrama Vincenzo (it's his 1st kdrama) and after that whenever he sees Song Joong-ki , he calls him as Vincenzo only. This is hilarious 😂 😂

They just said Train to Busan as in to show that they have watched the movie, so they know there is something called zombies.

Hello guys!! just to make it clear... "All of us are dead" has nothing to do with "Train to busan"... The movie does exist in their world (cuz they mentioned Train to busan in one of the episodes just to make a little reference... it was actually pretty funny tbh) but the stories are not connected AT ALL... the story of the drama was actually based on a webtoon published between 2009 and 2011 ❤ I hope this info will be helpfull for anyone! ;)

Ooooooh! South Korea are starting to produce more BL series now. Though they tend to very short series, but they do make BL now. And the exciting part of it is that a lot of BL actors are idols or former idols. I think SEMANTIC ERROR by far the longest there is in terms of time in each episodes. And it's still on going show.

There is Korean BL dramas (since 2020) and they are starting to get good. Semantic Error (with ex-KNK member and DONGKIZ member), Cherry Blossom After Winter and First Love Again are the ones airing right now and they seem pretty good. The first two are adapted from BL manhwas and all three storylines are chef's kiss. Also Light On Me is my favorite so far.

11:43 there are actually some really nice korean bls out there, not very widely known because as you said, korea is a very conservative country so some ppl are not very accepting of these kinds of dramas but there are some good ones out there, they are not as lengthy as the "straight dramas" tho lol, they are mostly about 8-10 episodes long with about 15-20 minutes per episode, some that I personally would recommend are "where your eyes linger", "to my star", "color rush (it has 2 seasons as of now), "Mr.heart", "Wish you", "you make me dance", "light on me" etc...

That scene where he says he is her stepfather, it’s from a drama where the girl had come home after her mom died to find this guy in her mom’s house. He had married the mom before the mom died so he was correct, he is technically her stepfather.

it always amazes me that no matter what type of asian show your watching they all have the same trope and vibe to them the inner dialogues happens in indian dramas as well, the cliches and dramatics of the love story are always the same wether u look at korea china pakistan india or turkey
LGBTQ+ characters in kdramas do happen, even though it doesn't happen often. There are becoming more, especially because of korean BL's, but if you're talking about the 'mainstream' k-drama's that air on tv, there aren't a lot. They are usually side characters. For example, there is Hyun-Yi, a transgender character, in Itaewon Class, a gay couple in Move to Heaven (great drama, definitely recommend) and Choi Ho-Dol and Joo Won-seok, two gay side characters who will become a couple in Love with Flaws (which aired on MBC).
All of Us Are Dead isn't related to Train to Busan. If you enjoyed Train to Busan though, I highly recommend Happiness, which is available on Viki. I think the series would've gotten more worldwide recognition had it been picked up by Netflix.
Song Joong-ki (Vincenzo) is an awesome actor and I love him as Yoo Si-jin. Fun fact-- One of his nephews is named Si-jin and he looks so much like Joong-ki.

All of us are dead is set in a school because the first zombie came from that school so the students are the first one to suffer and the fact that it has more scenes at the school is because they are trapped inside it but there is chaos happening outside of school too.

At the time that that particular kdrama was out there wasn't any popular concrete bl kdramas but now there's a good amount but Thailand and Japan have been leading that department for most of us for a while

I don't Think All of Us Are Dead is a sequel to Train to Busan. Train to Busan was a movie and it's sequel was Peninsula. Whereas All of Us Are Dead is a drama where Train To Busan exists as a Movie and not reality.

Korea had also produced some LGBT themed series but it wasnt as welcomed as Semantic Error and Cherry Blossom after winter.
I've been into BL since 2013 and I've watched a lot (mostly Thai BL) and also read a lot (manga/manhua/wattpad/)... So anyways, I've watched a lot of Korean BL but the theme was too dark . its either they chose suicide bec they dont wanna be separated.. or they just choose to be straight than face what they really are... its just that the ending are almost the same: tragic.
