And the fact that she never got his name wrong makes it even sadder. She gets Hajime’s name wrong multiple times, but she never got Nekomaru’s name wrong.
I know this is kinda late but lore wise danganronpa 2 was a simulation meaning none of the character actually died
"Haijme" means "beginning" and "Owari" means "ending." Because of this, one would expect Akane to be the mastermind. Imagine how disappointed everyone was upon learning that she wasn't.

She was actually supposed to be the antagonist, they even made her color scheme the opposite of hajimes. Her backstory would’ve made an awesome antag, and she was pretty smart so it sucks we didn’t hear much from her in trials

I really didn't like Akane at first, but seeing this, I realize there's a lot more to her character that I originally thought. I actually feel kinda bad about misjudging her before. Her behavior makes a lot of sense considering she grew up in such a dangerous and impoverished environment. She probably didn't have much of a formal education, saw people die almost regularly, never got the chance to eat too much, and had to do make money for her siblings in any way she could. Hope's Peak was the chance for them to have a new life.
It's a shame that she probably doesn't have anyone waiting for her in the real world.

Of course. You can't really say you a character is your favorite just from their introduction. I mean, I knew Gundham was going to be an entertaining character from his first scene, but I didn't really expect him to become one of my favorites out of the whole cast.

I knew that I was gonna like Akane just because her name is Akane, and that is one of my favorite names. After seeing this, she is definitely one of my favorite characters. Akane is so precious and wonderful and god, she actually made me really emotional. Keeping all of your emotions in and feel terrible for having to feel them...that's definitely something that I used to do, so it's really nice to see Akane's character and Hajime's friendship with her.
She keeps talking about how skinny Hinata is, but his BMI (Height to Weight ratio) is fine while hers is way too close to the minimum.

Danganronpa has a trouble with making people's heights and bmis realistic. Due to the amount of muscle she is said to have, the amount of food she eats, and her gymnast physique I'd imagine she realistically would be closer to the high end of her bmi.

Akane is in a similar position as Kazuichi, she has really good FTEs, but the way she acts in the main story is honestly annoying and downright bad. Sure it all ties back to the way she grew up, but tragic backstory isn't an automatic justification for how bad her story self acts. Similarly to Kazuichi who has good FTEs, but his story self is just "Miss Sonia"

I was literally thinking the same thing! The way the acted in the game felt so lame compared to the FTEs like Akane was just lol food and being randomly dumb when I think she should’ve developed more into a brave powerful woman who is more helpful late game. They should’ve had Sonia die because it’s be nice to see Kazuichi have an arch show more emotion and do more.
@@jigglypuff452 Sonia should have died going to get the mirror for Hiyoko. Would have made Kazuichi better and we could have seen more development from Hiyoko (and I say this as someone who despises Hiyoko)
@@jaceon02 true I loved Hiyoko but how I think it should work is Mikan would try to kill Hiyoko but ends up killing Sonia because otherwise her lashing out as revenge wouldn’t make as much sense and it also sparks development for Hiyoko
Apart from these free time events, I would like to add that she really cared about Nekomaru and had some valid character development even if her personality didn't change.
