Hi Eryn, I’m curious about the 26mm tube length... Do you profile and shape a normal 120mm length of cane and then just cut the tube to 26mm? Or are you adjusting the profile further back so the collar is already at 26mm, thus only having to cut the tip and never having to cut the tube? Thank you for your informative videos!

As a scientist and a new bassoon student, I find this to be the most concise information on reed making yet. Thank you so much!

Hey! I'm interested in getting a tip cutter for reed making, because I tend to have trouble getting an accurate tip. What tip cutter would you recommend for cutting the OVERALL length of the reed, as opposed to the length from the first wire. Happy New Year's Eve!

Cedar Speice hello! I like the Rieger tip clipper. Here's a link millermarketingco.com/rieger/bassoon.htm
It's a little bit pricey by gives a clean even line and has a built in ruler. Mine has lasted for years!
      Happy New Year!

Awesome! Would you recommend the Rieger Dial Indicator as well?

I don't own one of these, so I am not sure. Rieger is brand name so it is a bit more expensive than other brands available. Just be sure that you decide if you are going to work in inches or micrometers. Switching between the two can be a bear (doing the conversions), unless you have a digital dial indicator.

I'm relatively new to your channel and I must say it's amazing. However I'm at a stage in my bassoon career where I really need reeds but don't have the time to make them. I was wondering if you have any reeds for sell. I apologize if you get this question a lot anyways love the channel .
