Not a question but a comment. I have been watching you for quite awhile, 4 or 5 years, enjoyed every single video. But I have say that this my favorite so far. You are funny, an amazing sense of humor. You had me laughing. Also, listening to you talk about so much. Makes me miss all of the family gatherings, I felt at home.
Thank you Jamie. I filmed part 2 "Questions Answered" a few days ago and got it edited last night. Stay tuned, I will probably get that uploaded and made public Thursday at 5 pm central time.
I had never seen a fish house until you bought this one. I really like that it can be lowered down. For people with mobility issues, it would be far easier to use than a regular trailer or 5th wheel you have to climb to get in. I realize the purpose is for lowering it on the ice but just a a regular use trailer it seems so solid and accessible. Melissa did an outstanding job getting the fishing theme going throughout. Can't wait to see the next video when the other end is put together too. It is going to be a lot of fun!
That fuzzy pillow is the most un-Joe and un-Melissa thing I've seen on this channel...and it has to stay! LOL. Thanks for bringing us into the wheelhouse, Joe!
Thats a big difference from the plywood fish house my Grandpa had when I was a kid in Minnesota. I have been in Texas for over thirty years now and YES many people just can't believe people drive on frozen lakes! I remember as a child in Walker, the ice races on May lake every sunday. My wife, born and raised in Texas says some day she will have to see a frozen lake. Enjoy your videos every chance I get! Brings back old memories for sure!
I've lived in the midwest my entire life, born and raised in Wisconsin, and most if my adult life in northern Illinois, and I have never seen a fish house like this! Ice fishing shanties, yes, and some of those are pretty nice, but this is on another level! Granted, I'm more of a city/suburban girl, my dad didnt fish, and although I fish with my husband I. The summer, I've never gone ice fishing. I could really get into it with this kind if set up!
All either of you have to do if you can't find something is watch this video! Me too, this was the first time I've ever heard of a fish house like yours. Love how stoked you are about it and all the options it offers you. Some great videos on the horizon.
If you put your heads up by the windows in the lower bed you could put a shelf or some such to hold eye glasses, water, book, etc behind the pillows and no one would have to crawl over someone to get out at night. I love this camper! Cant wait to see it all ready for its first trip.I never knew how deep the ice had to be. Thats crazy thick but still Id be a worrier. Now I have to tell my family to leave me alone Im camping with Joe and Melissa 😊🎣 🏕
I have been watching your channel for some time now, I don't, fish, farm, hunt, but I enjoy watching you do all creative things, much luck with all your plans and new adventures, God Bless you both. As you pursue your dreams and projects.
Very nice fish house! It gives me some good ideas to use on my vintage travel trailer remodel. Great decoration's...Real Fishy! Looking forward to the next video. Blessings from Georgia USA 🙏 🪶
Thanks for sharing with us Joe, the camper/fish house really looks great. Hope you all get a lot of safe use out of it up there. Stay safe and keep up the great videos. Fred.
I live in Ontario and have been fishing for 50 years and I’ve never heard of this kind of fishing or wheel house as you’ve called it. I love it. Oh Melissa is a hoot all those fishy accessories 😂😂🤗🎊
Ha! As you were pulling out your board games I kept thinking, "You can't have family game night without "Yatzee" and UNO!" Then the last game you pulled out was Yatzee and eventually you pulled out UNO! 😂 Cracked me up. I had never heard of a camper/fishhouse until you showed us this. Living in south central Indiana I don't think we get enough freezing to make that a safe option. This is just a PERFECT set-up for you two!
Both my husband and I have never seen one of these fish houses but this is brilliant! I've always wanted to go ice fishing and this is my idea of ice fishing!! 🤣 I mean you can be watching your favorite movie, cooking up a big pot of chili, have 4 lines going and staying cozy at 75 degrees. That's my idea of fun.
No questions, just a comment; Loved this vid, you were soooo-Relaxed, and easy to feel. Thanks for sharing, hub and i had a high, ole, time watching...
I've known about these for a long time. I'm jealous, out here in Western New York on the south side of lake Ontario. We don't get the ice for those big wheel houses. There's only a few small skid houses and portables. That's a beautiful ice castle
I'm from SW Ontario, Canada and have never seen a fishing house either.... The Sorry game was one of my faves as a kid (now 67) and just bought one and play it with my 9 year old grandson when he comes to stay lol
Cribbage is a great game to play. My Dad played it a lot when he was in the Navy and taught my brothers and I how to play. We used to play it with him and my uncle (his brother) during Deer hunting trips. Unfortunately, both are now gone, and my brother and I play it in memory of them.
Has Melissa’s daughters family expressed any interest in coming up for a visit when school is out? Seems like it would be a wonderful place for the grandkids, plenty of new experiences and adventures to explore.
Melissa and Joe, that unit is awesome!! I'm from Ohio and never knew of a fish hut/ camper before and think this is the bomb!! Beautiful inside!! So happy for you guys!! Can't wait for more adventures in videos!!
I knew people fished from the shore and I knew they fished from boats, but I never knew they built houses, on wheels, and with holes in the floor so that people can drive miles out onto a frozen lake, drill a hole in 25 inch ice to fish while watching TV. Amazing. And fun, I'm sure!
😂😂😂Joe you remind me of my hubby lol, he goes and does one thing but ends up doing something completely different to what he was suppose to do lol and then gets pissed off with himself coz then he has to do what he was gonna do in the first place😂😂. I’m from New Zealand and it’s my first time seeing a beautiful fish house like that, thank you Joe for sharing with us😊
Absolutely LOVE this. The wonderful ideas you come up with serve as an inspiration. Y'all are knocking it out of the park. Thanks for another awesome video, Joe!
I didn't know they existed lol. I'm in Oklahoma, we don't get that kind of weather to need one lol. It was pretty cool to see one. How does the lowering mechanism work?
Just a comment here. With my RV, I pack in a cheap Harbor Freight bag a bunch of Miscellaneous items like Fuses, Tape, small tools, Etc. Your extra heater parts reminded me of that. Just thought I’d say. Love the fish house!
WOW!! That's Glamping, holy crap, it's a tiny fish/camper rv.. When you use as a summer camper do you lower it to the ground?? Does it have steps,to get in/out of if it's in a raised position?? Looking forward to seeing your personal touches for it. Have and be safe.👍🤓👍🤓Randy.
Wow Joe! Melissa has thought about everything. Bedspreads, medicine cabinet, board games…. MaLana and I play a lot of cribbage. Strip cribbage. Win or lose, someone’s gonna end up naked…..🙂 I’ll teach you how to lose every time….
I got fed up too and now I take a black permanent marker and when I know definitely where the top and the bottom are I put a T and a B because it’s going to be wrapped around the bottom nobody’s gonna see it. 👍🏻👍🏻
The terms you were looking for on the furnace are thermocouple, and igniter for the starting of the furnace. It's a very nice ice house. Being as far north as you are 20" of ice should be no issues. Easy to find lakes up there with 20" of ice
Oh I forgot to say that the new fish house is definitely looking really nice for sure!!! I definitely think that Melissa will like it and like staying in it and fishing for several days!!! I definitely no that I would love to fish and stay in one for a winter for sure!!! Absolutely love ice fishing and didn’t get a chance to go this winter because I had a surgery and was in the hospital and then out recovering from the surgery!!! I definitely wish I would have been able to get out at least once to get on some crappies or some walleyes witch are definitely awesome to eat during the winter for sure!!!! Can’t weight to see what else you end up doing to the fish house!!!??
Being southern as I am you are correct I had never heard of them. So I was curious (pricing). I looked at a couple of places and they seemed to be reasonably priced. But so far I am seeing mainly the short trailers. Not ones comparable to your size. I suspect if I did a deep dive it would show more of the larger "fish houses". I suspect the other reason is google is detecting where your computer is so since these types of trailers would not be found here that is why I am not seeing a lot of them.
To me the Fish House seems like a four-season travel trailer. Any plans to ever take it long distance since it has pretty much all you need and a vehicle to haul it with?
As Florida citizen my question is. Is there any way we can make this float. Cause that would be awesome 👌 😂 plenty of water down here. But also this is my first time ever seeing 👀 a fish house rv
I must have missed the name or of you mentioned it when y'all got it. But Grand Castle is a fitting name on that rig. That's not including the homey touches y'all are already doing to make yours. Can't wait to see the bed rebuild when you go after that project you mentioned.
Question - It doesn't exactly look light-weight with all that wood trim inside etc. How do you know it's OK to take out onto the ice? What's the plan if it cracks though?
I'm in South Florida and I didn't know a "Fish House" was and when you first mentioned it, I had to google it to find out what it was. Great video and content!
I can remember going onto a frozen lake…..happy to tentatively go eight feet or a little more. 22 miles is incomprehensible……in fact, can’t think of any lakes that big on the continent I live.
i didn`t know they existed but would love to have a go, i fished from a tent on the beach not as comfortable as your get up. so cold early hours of the morning all for the thrill of catching a fish good times. thank you
Hey Joe😊 Hey Melissa❤ QUESTION: How much do you charge per night; renting it out as an AirBnB during the off season? 😂LOL I bet you'd love having me staying up at your place! Take care, Washington State🙏🌲🌅
I think what you're looking for is a spark arrestor or a igniter for your furnace. It's electronic and you would be wise to get it back up circuit board. I don't know if you have nozzles on your furnace but what it sounds like you did a great job cleaning your burners
See these in Southern Ontario... normally a smaller version as we dont get the ice coverage you guys do further North. Northern Ontario these are pretty common, although more people seem to use the smaller portable fish huts/tents to move around to the smaller lakes.
Well add me to the list of people from Texas who didn’t know these exist but what a great idea. I had to google them and the Yeti brand came up. Have you seen them. Don’t know what you paid for yours but the Yeti I saw was $46,000. Didn’t really look any better than yours. Have fun in it!
Looks awesome! That little tab that sticks out on the cabinet mounted measuring stick would irritate me to no end....mostly because I'd snag or cut myself on it all time!
Such a cozy and cute fish house. Great job picking out beautiful decor, Melissa. Thanks to Joe for getting it all organized. Will u sleep up top or on the bottom? I just love it so much and have fun on your journeys......grams from ohio
So nice I’m glad you all plan to take some time and enjoy yourselves! Fish on!

I love this fish house. I have never seen one of these before. The fish house looks better then some mobile homes I have been in.
And better built!
Joe, so happy for you all on your purchase !
Second Hand Lion, what a great movie!
One of my favorites! ❤😊
Yes!! Keep an extra igniter, thermocouple. If you keep an extra circuit board it’s like having a brand new furnace with you.
Thats a big difference from the plywood fish house my Grandpa had when I was a kid in Minnesota. It's like a rolling/floating log cabin! You two are going to have a blast!!!
This wheel house is a great solution to winter fishing & summer camping. I like the fish decor! It’s great that you are having date night there.
I have been watching your channel for some time now, I don't, fish, farm, hunt, but I enjoy watching you do all creative things, much luck with all your plans and new adventures, God Bless you both. As you pursue your dreams and projects.

Melissa is a private person ergo family itinerary is none of our beeswax.

Self righteousness isn't righteous.......just sayin'.😊
Bet your grand daughters would love those pillows!
Joe I so admire your work ethic
Melissa and Joe, that unit is awesome!! I'm from Ohio and never knew of a fish hut/ camper before and think this is the bomb!! Beautiful inside!! So happy for you guys!! Can't wait for more adventures in videos!!
I think I said also, never seen a fish house ever. But I'm south in Tennessee. Lots of RVs and tons of campers here. Thanks for sharing.
I love the fish house! It is just perfect! So glad you found that one!

I didn't know they existed lol. I'm in Oklahoma, we don't get that kind of weather to need one lol. It was pretty cool to see one.
How does the lowering mechanism work?

Looks like you guys will have a great time with your new project. Have fun making it yours.
I find it hard to believe that you could sit still long enough to play a board game. You’re so hyper
Lol! thanks for the long john shot joe I'm sure Melissa loved that hahahahaha
I love that movie secondhand Lions! Joe, I love your videos
How much these two love each other is absolutely refreshing
I totally agree with you.
Joe this would be good to come duck camp to sleep in

Hey Joe I really like what y’all are doing to the fish house, awesome! 👍👍👍🤩🤩🤩💯💯💯
" A River Runs Through It" is a really good movie.
I have never heard of a fish house! That is a thing of beauty! Very cool!
With them cabinets it would really make it cold up there. Maybe some black circle vents to get some air flow.
Love the fish pattern just reminds me of a wealthy person

Those fish house trailer nothing like they had on Grumpy Old Men. Pure comfy.
Yours is the first fish house I've ever seen or heard of and I live in N.H. but it looks fun though.
I hope the fish enjoy their new house.

We have talked about that...if we could somehow add pontoons to it we could be out in the middle of the lake year round! LOL

I never knew about these either They sure are nice
Love all the new items for the fish house
Realistically how often in winter do you think your gonna use this? Not being a jerk just wondering.
Question - It doesn't exactly look light-weight with all that wood trim inside etc. How do you know it's OK to take out onto the ice? What's the plan if it cracks though?

Omg…Sorry, Trouble, and Scrabble where always played in my youth. Plus Risk, monopoly, and battleships.

Yup, never saw a fish house until I saw yours.......we have Bob Houses they take out on Lake Sunapee but no rigs like yours.
We don't see them a whole lot here in Las Vegas 🤷🏻♂️ I never heard of them until you bought one, now I know they exist 😁
Hello Joe from Michigan I've never heard or seen a fish house like this and it's very interesting.

I never heard or seen a fish house like that. Up north at the great lakes, probably common.
It all comes together in the end Melissa and Joe great job 👍😎
Didn't know cribbage was a Minnesota thing too. Get yourself a cribbage board. :)
The ice castle is looking so good.coming together nicely. ❤
I think what you're looking for is a spark arrestor or a igniter for your furnace. It's electronic and you would be wise to get it back up circuit board. I don't know if you have nozzles on your furnace but what it sounds like you did a great job cleaning your burners

Ole Joe - Have you seen the "earless" Doe at all this year? I don't recall you mentioning it in any of the recent videos.
I think it has been 3 years since we saw her.
Good question! 🤔 I forgot about her. 👍
Love the wood used in this camper. Don’t have these in Louisiana, it’d have to be a submarine since no ice to drive on! Lololol
Wow, that sucker is long! Nice fishing trailer.
🤔That sounds familiar!
Looks awesome! That little tab that sticks out on the cabinet mounted measuring stick would irritate me to no end....mostly because I'd snag or cut myself on it all time!
