The sooner you go back to BASS the sooner you will be the best that ever was. You deserve to fish your best years at the organization that will be recognized in 10
God Bless you Jacob for taking an old friend fishing. I lost my dad in 2017 and I would give anything to fish with him again. He was one heck of a bass fisherman and even qualified for severeral Bass Pro Am tournaments. I've got pictures of him talking to Guido Hibden, Jimmy Houston, Hank Parker, and several other Pros at that time.
I am so glad that you are the way. You are. #1 in the world yet and yet still enjoy spending time with those friends that challenged you when you were not all that. I know you really bless them when you show up. Fished there two years ago with my brother on dad’s 1987 Bass Tracker on the hottest day of the year with blue bird skies. Six hours no bits, burnt like all get out and the younger brother has four fish. Loved spending the time with him, great day.
very cool, Jacob! That’s pretty awesome fishing with your old partner in the same old lake. wow, I can imagine there was probably a lot of “do you remember when we caught him here or there”. thanks for taking us along!
Wow such a cool video man! Dude i appreciate you taking the the man that took the time to help you along when you where a young kid. I’m sure it meant so much to him. I also grew up in Indiana a couple hours south of you, so cool to see some fishing in Indiana! Thanks for posting!
Love my Tuesday and Thursday nights here in Indy. Some great sticks on Geist and Morse. It’s not easy to come in and put fish in boat and win a 4hr derby. Good job and great meeting you at the ramp there at Geist with the guys.
We just had the poor man’s classic out there a couple weekends ago. Intentionally didn’t watch the video until now. Didn’t wanna mess up thinking I should chase your bites. Turned out I fished some of the same spots. Glad to see even though I didn’t cash I was in some good waters at one point
That was a fun video to watch. It's always great to get out with friends. I like Morse better than Geist, TBH. Won a tournament at Morse with FFS last year. It was probably around the time of the year this video was shot.
Loved this video! I’ve been fishing local club tournaments and week nighters with my great uncle here in east Texas for about 10 years now and man we have won some money and made some memories! Some of the best ones are on the accent buzzbait too! On a 2,000 acre lake! Would love to take my “game” to the next level and see what happens. Great video Wheeler!
Fished there in about 2015 in a highschool tournament so freakin cold, I was one of the only to catch a couple flipping. Small Indiana lake, you make it look like it fishes well.
I really Loved This Video JWHEELS, I am from the same place buddy 💥💥🇺🇸🇺🇸 would definitely Love to get into a boat with you 🎣🎣🎣 amazing days Jacob Wheeler 💯💯 Congratulations on a Great Career buddy 💥💥🇺🇸🇺🇸
Bro i go to Morse and always struggle, i used to to a lot better when there was less docks and seawalls and more natural bank with laydowns. Nice to see you guys fishing deeper water i always stay too close to the bank i guess
I use to think Morse was big when i was younger too. It's a shame that you are one of the best bass fisherman in the world, and get ZERO press in central Indiana. Same could be said for EJ Tackett from Bluffton. Best bowler in the world this year, and didn't get any local press for winning the US Open in Indianpolis.
I remember when you won the Walmart children network tournament.I’m the ole man that stills owes ya a cup of coffee.I told ya make light on ya self with our side bet.Lol!Ya just had won 300k the week before.Ya said ok cup of coffee an I said diet mtdew.Ya said deal!Well ya let me leave to come home an ya told my partner you didn’t wanna break my ole heart.LMAO!Great video👍🏼👍🏼
Awesome video. The military just moved me to Indiana. Any tips for Monroe? I came here from lake mead (Nevada) and I think that barren wasteland was easier to figure out than Monroe! Good luck GOAT!
You need to spend time when you can with Ole Lester why you still got him dude.Once he’s gone you can’t go back. I’m 68 now and if I could go back in time I would fish with my Big Pa one more time.
Big fan from Richmond IN, would love to fish against ya at Geist on a Tuesday nighter just for the experience & camaraderie. If you ever plan to hit one, please let us know. Take care.
One of my favorite videos. I admire someone who never forgets his roots. Prolly meant the world to him

This is pretty awesome that you go back to fish with him. I'm sure he's your biggest fan and loves to see you succeed!
Appreciate the enthusiasm of getting to fish with someone who was a mentor. Those times are precious and fleeting
Had a nice old timer (WWII VET) do similar for me and a couple friends. Still have a fly rod and reel he gave me. Priceless, and god rest his soul.

Met some of my best friends fishing over the 30 years of club fishing ! Is Priceless! Memories last forever man < Now I'm 60 * Time flys! Peace all
Fishing with the Mentor is always the greatest feeling.

Found that sneaky rocky spot off that dock ! Noice
That was awesome. Guarantee he will remember this day . God's good
Glad to see you taking the time for your mentor ,much respect to you bro.
We used to fish the white river down by Spencer - Freedom IN area for catfish way back in the day man! 🎣

Ole Lester! Taking about him today fishing the final day of the Geist Classic.
We just had the poor man’s classic out there a couple weekends ago. Intentionally didn’t watch the video until now. Didn’t wanna mess up thinking I should chase your bites. Turned out I fished some of the same spots. Glad to see even though I didn’t cash I was in some good waters at one point
Thanks for sharing 👍 😊
That was awesome I bet you had a blast fishing with your buddy
That is super cool, fishing with your mentor! Great video
I would think that meant a lot to you both. Congrats.

I'm a Duckett fan, Jacob !!!
Pretty awesome stuff right there bud.

Fell off the boat over there
Best to ever do it.
Next time come on up to Wawasee
Sweet video!!!
Yes yes !! I live in Anderson Indiana this is cool all we got is Cabelas . Nice to get an academy!! When is this gonna be done ?
Great to see you come back home and fish some derbs. Did you ever travel up north and fish the lakes up here (Angola/Auburn/Tippecanoe)?
I have not actually! My editor Brody has fished Angola and tippy quite a bit in the past

Love seeing a pro in my home state although if you want a tough lake in Indiana fish Monroe
Man I’ve heard it’s improved quite a bit!
Has alot of grass this year
@@WheelerFishing a lot better than past years just very pressured

Not sure if it still stands, but Morse held the world record for a Yellow Bass.
I caught my PB on Geist during a Tuesday nighter
I always struggle at Morse man not sure what it is about it it just always kicks my ass.

Did you practice for that and did the forward facing sonar help at all?
Just a couple hours or so. And no not at all really
What we lack in Indiana, we make up for in… well, I’m not sure. But we do lack in Indiana…
Also I fish this like with my kayak.
I enjoy crappie fishing morse
Come back and fish a white river derb
Mmmmmy man
