Rini Makain That would be illegal and unethical. If you want the latest version of PS, go to the Adobe Creative Cloud website: creative.adobe.com/plans/photography
Aaron Glenn Baquiran I also noticed that when you name the Poster Edge layer, stay there, do not click on the Color Halftone layer at all, just click the eye icon off. If you do click on the layer, to make it active, you get that greyed out business on the Filter Gallery step.
If you're reading this and you're not already subscribed to this channel, please do. Blue Lightning TV gets it done!! (Also this effect does not work so well with black and white photos lol)
Marty: Great tutorials like this are hard to do well. I like how you just give us the commands of what to do clearly and concisely. You are thorough and don't skip the small steps like some tutorials do.
This was a FANTASTIC tutorial!!!!! I've never seen such a superbly edited and narrated Photoshop tutorial! Thank you so much for making this, and well done! You're a great teacher! I've just subscribed!
Wow. That was not only a great effect, but a great tutorial. You literally explained everything, and for beginners, that is really important (and not to mention, often skipped over in many tutorials) Thank you so much for this! Can't wait to try this out
Even though I'm moderately experienced with Photoshop, I still love your tutorials... often times it's just seeing a familiar tool used in a way I hadn't thought of before, or just learning something completely new.. thank you so much! :)
You are superb both in computer and art! And the best one in teaching. You show every details in short and logic steps. Your brain is out of ordinary. Thank you.
Great and clear tutorial, but I have one important question..what if I want to print that image on big board or a shirt, I will definitely need a higher resolution up to 300 PI, how can I make the same step on a big image that have to be printed?? Thanks
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your work. It is YOU that bought me into the wonderful world of Photoshop. Your tutorials are concise, easy to follow, clear! I really love following your steps to do exactly what I need to do with my photos! Thank you again!
Blue Lightning TV I was wondering if you could do an update to your old Obama Hope Poster, and perhaps make it smoother, because I feel like it was a little jagged, but the whole tutorial was really good.
this is hands down the best photoshop tutorial on youtube. so clear. don't miss a thing. perfect. firts time user and i came out with a perfect product. all thanks to your details. THanks man
Well Sir, I very like the way you do a tutural videos. It's very clear and direct to the point. Its easy to understand and followed. Congratulation and thanks for your effort.
You are an amazing tutor! Fantastic direction and quality of video and audio. I love what you do, please don't stop! Incredibly well done! Thanks for sharing!
I knew what was going on, but I figured for beginners it may be good to mention it. The visual gets you there anyway. Thanks for the tutorial. After it is finished "Merge Visible" layers and convert to grayscale without the talk bubble. Very dramatic.
I tried this a few times recently, it's fun but have an issue with the Filter Gallery step, the photo transforms but with so many little black bits, like tar hitting the face at a Nascar racetrack. Do I need to do something to the image first? I can understand a guy having it some, if not completely clean shaven but not on a woman. Is there a way to control that first? Thanks, love your tutorials.
Try using the surface blur first, that should tame any spots that will get picked up in the poster edges. If you use it as a smart filter, you can play with the values until you get what you want.
Dude, this is the first time I see a tutorial with so much good explanation. Your tutorial couldn't be more clear, Thanks. (I apologize my english by the way)
i have an asus laptop and i absolutely LOVE your videos but i don't know if i can get what you are using on my laptop so the question is is what are you using to make the photos ????? ~cierra

thanks u sir very nice effect. but sir i want to a tutorial sir / how to change multi color background with easy technic? sir i wait you please please sir make this tutorial.
Hi Marty, I notice you tend to use resolutions of anywhere from 72 to 150 for your projects. I would want to print some of these out and would like to know; 1) Is 150 resolution enough to print an 8"x10" or larger and not be pixelated? 2) If I need to bump up the resolution for to say 240 for printing how will it effect the image in this tutorial? 3) Will I need sharpening and which would you suggest for printing? 4) Do you have these tutorials in written form? Thank you kindly Pete
1) For print, begin with a document that's 300 ppi resolution. 2) When an image is "up-rezed" (bumping up its resolution), the image does not get crisper. 3) Sharpening does help up to a point. Personally, I like the "High Pass Filter", I did a tutorial comparing Sharpening filters. 4) I do not have tutorials in written form.
Blue Lightning TV Thank you for your prompt answer. Marty, when I bump it up to 300 ppi will I still use the height and with as you suggested in the tutorial for it to come out correct? I noted in the video you were pretty clear to the sizes used for it to come out to look like your example? Thank you again Pete
Pete Esposito In general, an image should start with 300ppi for print, but for the cartoon effect, it doesn't follow that rule if you want the final effect to look like the example in this video. The photo should be 150ppi as stated in the tut, however, once you apply the dot filter, up-rez it to 300ppi. You cans then sharpen it using sharpening filters.
GREAT! I need to crest storyboards for a video webseries and I may need to include our storyboards for later content... don’t want stick figures or actual production photos... THESE ARE PERFECT!

Thank you very much for the tutorial I had a photo i thought sucked but with this effect it absolutely rocks
At 5:45, it should be "Color halftone layer" not "Color Vibrance layer" in the narration.
Doh! You are correct.
I knew what was going on, but I figured for beginners it may be good to mention it. The visual gets you there anyway. Thanks for the tutorial.
After it is finished "Merge Visible" layers and convert to grayscale without the talk bubble. Very dramatic.
i dont have the pixelate option as show at 5:51, what to do?
Imge > Mode > RGB color, 8 bits/Channel
Blue Lightning TV That does'nt make any differens :(

I love your tutorials!! Thank you so much :)
Great tutorial. I've viewed other tutorials of yours and as usual , it's great. Thanks.
