    If Filter Gallery is greyed out, go to Image > Mode > RBG color, 8bits/Channel.

      I also noticed that when you name the Poster Edge layer, stay there, do not click on the Color Halftone layer at all, just click the eye icon off. If you do click on the layer, to make it active, you get that greyed out business on the Filter Gallery step.

    I tried this a few times recently, it's fun but have an issue with the Filter Gallery step, the photo transforms but with so many little black bits, like tar hitting the face at a Nascar racetrack. Do I need to do something to the image first? I can understand a guy having it some, if not completely clean shaven but not on a woman. Is there a way to control that first? Thanks, love your tutorials.

    • @gtinsocal
      @gtinsocal 9 лет назад

      Try using the surface blur first, that should tame any spots that will get picked up in the poster edges. If you use it as a smart filter, you can play with the values until you get what you want.

      Indeed, that picture he got is already edited, so the pictures that most of us have, are just from the camera to the PC, so still have lots of details, and good resolution, so it won't have the same effects even if we follow the tutorial step by step
