The comment made at 16:00 is baloney. The USAF and Navy were not still operating piston aircraft as their primary intercept fighters, as was suggested by the narrator. The USAF had the F-80 and F-84 in service in Korea at the early days of the war, while the Navy had the McDonnell Banshee , and the Grumman Cougars and Panthers in service. The piston fighters we had in service were the F-51 Mustang by USAF, and the Navy had the Corsair and AD Skyraider. These aircraft were strictly used in the ground attack roles.
Mark Hanna, what a pilot!
