Three days ago there were 6 hummers flying & fighting over my one feeder (it has 4 holes) anyway, all of sudden the smallest hummer I've ever seen came to my feeder. It was super small. A friend of mine was with me on my porch and said that was the smallest they had ever seen also. We could not believe how small it was!! I'm in central/east Texas. ??? I am going try get a picture but no promises, lol😊

    Fantastic! Thank you for sharing. I will have to figure out who your hosts are. (I presume that’s a B&B or something?) And 220 at this point? Amazing! I am at 6. Definitely newer to this. :)
    My wife takes a girls’ trip every winter, and I usually pop off on my own somewhere. I am planning a hummingbird photography trip to the Dominican Republic this year, which might expand to Curaçao and Sint Maarten as well. But I am very excited to try and find the Vervain Hummingbird, which is a close second to the Bee for the title of smallest bird. I thought about a trek to Cuba instead, but my wife has wanted to go there for a long time, and so I’ll safe that trip for a time that we can go together. But watching your videos are great food for thought. Thanks!

    I have been feeling hummingbird for 4 years, the population was growing. In mid April I lost most of my guests. I live in Laguna Niguel as you know we had a record breaking rain fall and the hill side are full of blooming flowers. Do you think that the hummingbirds have a better food source, is this the reason for the decline in numbers? What are your thoughts. Thank you, Keith

    • @HummingbirdSpot
      @HummingbirdSpot  Год назад

      That is exactly why you aren't seeing many hummingbirds. They are not dependent on your feeders right now because all of the rain brought tons of flowers to SoCal. Don't worry, your hummingbirds will remember where you are and they will be back!
