    Another note to make is that the voltage rings do not radiate away from the point of contact in perfect circles. Soil condition is the factor in how the rings expand out. Moisture or lack of and soil type dictate how the voltage is going to react. The voltage in most cases radiates out in irregular patterns and distances.

    Great advice/info. Not many non-tech people would have realised these dangers at all, especially the step potential danger.

    Huh, very informative. Basic safety announcements always tell you not to exit the vehicle in case you hit a line do to your body completing a circuit, but never go beyond that into actually solving the problem or how to SAFELY exit.

      При Союзе на каждом заводе или предприятии был инженер по ТБ . Без его допуска никто не приступал к работе . А плакаты доходчиво показывали что к чему .
      А шаговое напряжение объясняли еще в школе ...

    I saw a fellow walking behind a BED TRUCK during an OIL RIG MOVE . The GIN POLES were up and made contact with the power lines. The fellow behind the bed truck was steadying a beam with his hands and got shocked. The tires on the bed truck blew out and the truck stopped. Luckily the fellow who got shocked , LIVED. Usually, a shock like that will COOK YOU INTERNAL ORGANS. VERY LUCKY MAN

    I am a high-voltage electrician that works for a power plant and sometimes you can’t back away from the line because sometimes the voltages are so high that the orcs go across the tires and blow them out so if you don’t know what the voltages and the tires are still hole you may have a chance

    If your truck lean 1000 volt rope, maybe. But if you have a lean to rope 15000000 volt, after your jump from cab, will be lightning from cab to body to earth. And it will be death. For excavator not sure, because it has a good contract steel tracks with earth and so good square of touching.
    And I think electronic of truck will have failure in high voltage 15000000 volt.
    What you have do if you will have these conditions in truck and in excavator?

      Everything can allow a charge to flow across it if there's enough voltage.
      It's all about resistance, some materials will resist the flow of electrons more than others.
      Does Air provide a 'connection'? Of course not but if there's enough magical pixies wanting to find a way to the ground and if they're determined enough, they'll find their way :)

      every insulating material have break down voltage ,if u r insulated by shoes & voltage is high that may damage the life of the person

    • @robg521
      @robg521 6 лет назад +3

      When we work on a live network we wear insulating dialectic rubber boots and rubber gloves. This safety equipment is rated to be safe to work at relatively low voltages.
      During fault conditions voltages can run extremely high and these specialist boots and gloves will not protect you.
      So If you think that normal shoes and clothing will give you protection from voltages you are in for a nasty shock.... literally LOL.

    • @MattExzy
      @MattExzy 6 лет назад +1

      I've seen some scary videos of where the people are wearing shoes, but the people have gotten very, very fried and crispy regardless and killed. If the voltage is high enough, simple shoes will go into dielectric breakdown and complete the circuit to ground.
