    I’m an American and my mums motswana but I grew up in Botswana for most my childhood and learned Setswana, and I have been to South Africa where i can understand Spedi and Sesotho but not in it’s entirety I used to wonder they say strange speaking “Setswana” 😂 now I know. now I’m back in America and i learned to speak French and Portuguese and through learning those languages I’m proud I know Setswana. Please keep your beautiful language and culture with you, don’t ever lose it…

    Tsamaya ka Sepedi refers to the act of going somewhere, whereas sepela can also refer going somewhere or to the actual act of walking.

    Amazing stuff 👌🏻

      Even here in SA we have different tswanas

    • @parttymatswiri7434
      @parttymatswiri7434 3 года назад +5

      I don’t think it’s different where I come from in Tsabong we speak the same dialect as they do in mafikeng and places like Kurumane which is Setlharo

    • @parttymatswiri7434
      @parttymatswiri7434 3 года назад +2

      The only difference we can say exist is the dialects but am sure we can communicate with each other without any hardships even when using our dialects because it’s a matter of just explaining what a few words mean. If you go to places like Rustenburg the Setswana they speak there is just the same as the one mostly spoken in Botswana

    • @parttymatswiri7434
      @parttymatswiri7434 3 года назад +1

      Yeah right am sure it goes for all languages but it’s just a matter of dialects and a few words there and there even in Botswana we speak different dialects so we can’t say it’s different
      Am sure Sesotho and Swati also have different dialects across SA, Lesotho and Eswatini

    Hystorically the batswana, bapedi and basotho originated from one tribe called Basotho from central africa they migrated south on different times thats why the languages differ a little presently mostly due to inter merriages with differet tribes.

      Setswana is easy also, the problem is that some mix it with other African languages while the original one itself if easy. You only need to learn it from someone who speaks it very well.

      The video wasn't much of an educational one but rather entertainment, if that was the case to write the sentences on screen would have be ideal
