It's funny you mention that, just the other day someone called it a calendar, and it blew my mind because I always saw it as a birthday cake! I'm not sure what Tableau calls it, but I suppose either one is correct, haha.
Thank you so much for your incredible Tableau tutorial! Your clear explanations and step-by-step breakdown made it easy for me to grasp each concept. I truly appreciate your effort in sharing your knowledge. Looking forward to more insightful videos from you!
Hey all, A couple of things I want to address: 1. There was a bug in the emailing process where some users were not receiving the email with the Tableau file. As of Sept. 18th 2023, this bug should be fixed now. 2. It usually takes several minutes to get the Tableau file. If you still aren't getting it, please respond to this comment, and I'll take a look. Thanks!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I love the SQL part of DA but I have been a bit frustrated trying to get the hang of Tableau. I guess I have been too impatient with it. You explain it so seemlessly and your calm demeanor puts me at ease!!!
Thank you so much for this. Can you also make a video of how to extract the data you want from sql. Like what are the things you look out for? What guides your sql queries etc. thank you
If I manually create age bins (e.g., 0-5, etc.) as a dimension and then plot it against a measure (row count), the result is a bar chart that displays the frequency of data within those bins. However, if I choose age, Tableau automatically determines the bins based on the data's distribution and creates the histogram. Thank you for this amazing presentation! ❤❤
@abhishekrajeev1028, right now there isn't yet a set deadline. Am hoping to have it completed sometime this fall, but am working on it everyday. I have 6 Modules out of 10 recorded, and still need to do video editing, add some guided projects, among other things. Will have a big announcement once I'm ready to recruit my first group of students. So stay tuned!
SQL is a programming language where you write "queries" to pull data out of databases. It's used a lot in data analytics to store data, and is often paired with Tableau. Check out this video if you'd like to learn more: ruclips.net/video/ef4CAu-OwvM/видео.html
I'm pretty new to data analysis and data visualization, is this something that we need to have tableau signa a business associate agreement to ensure that it is hipaa compliant? I'm really the only data person at my company and I'm trying to navigate hipaa compliance for tableau and some sort of sql server, like microsoft sql management studio,
I'm not sure about the paperwork you have to sign. But i can tell you that every hospital and healthcare organization i have worked at (I've worked at 6 different organizations) has had Tableau server, with patient information. We always controlled access to those reports on a need-to-know basis. And there were usually certain policies around who can access what and where. So Tableau server is certainly capable of storing HIPAA info in a secure way. If it helps, you dont have to be the only person involved in this process. Doing something like adopting Tableau Server at your org is something that should be a collective deicision-making process with you and members of leadership. Maybe forming a committee and inviting a tableau rep to share your questions and concerns would be a good first-step.
Hey! I'm unable to get the lesson files after registering and confirming my email. I filled out the form twice, checked spam, and tried a different email address. Would really appreciate your help with this. Thanks!
Thanks for letting me know! You helped me spot a bug in my emailing process that I setup. I think I fixed it, so it should be working now. Try filling out the form again, and if that doesn't work, I'll take another look.
How do I calculate age if only patient's birth year is provider? Also wanted to mention that I tried using sum(row count) but I dint work for my dataset. The result just showed 1, and not the row count. What wrong would I be doing?
Hi i donwload tableau desktop free trial 14 days and try to open posgresql but need to dowload driver connectors .. In tableau desktop , I select help and then about tableau. From there all get about tableau professional edition logo screen and stuck on that screen.
It looks like there may have been a delay in its delivery. But my email service shows that it was sent at Sept 28th 10:23 AM PST. Did you check your spam folder?

Fascinating. 1hr+ free high quality content and kid finds a flaw in 1 sec that's not even related to understanding. Bravo. Privileged people really don't understand the value of free, good quality education.
I'm genuinely curious, do you legitimately find your joke funny, to the point where potentially hurting someone's emotions makes sense? Artistry and content creation requires a tramendous ammount of vulnerability. This guy has put himself out there to help others, and build his own life in the process. We should promote that courage, and the time he invested into bringing it all together. As a society, I believe we should lift those of us that are helping others, rather than pointing out a small arbitrary detail that means nothing. You and everyone else here were perfectly able to follow the info, ragedless of how he visually associated the shape of an icon... I'm sure you personally are actually feeling light hearted, but true empathy requires stepping into someone else's head/heart, without bringing your own biases in. If we can pull that off consistently together.. SO much more progress would take place in this world.
Thanks! I'm so happy that someone started a series directed toward Healthcare data.
I am so excited to have found your channel. Its good to see that someone started a series specifically for healthcare data. Thank you so much
Around 18:25 you talk about the datetime-fields as birthday cake this is just awesome :D
I thought these were calendar sheets ;)
It's funny you mention that, just the other day someone called it a calendar, and it blew my mind because I always saw it as a birthday cake!
I'm not sure what Tableau calls it, but I suppose either one is correct, haha.
Was just wanting to comment this! "Birthday cakes" hehe Maybe the old flip calendars are getting outdated!
I thought this was dry humor that only added to how great this tutorial is! Had to come to the comments to see if anyone else called it out 😀

def not a birthday cake
I seriously don't know how you've missed this in your entire career🤣🤣🤣🤣. Those are not birthday cake icons. They are supposed to look like calendars.
