It is sad what's happening to funko. It use to be such a blast every week hunting and helping eachother out. The good ol days. I can't wait until exclusive Mischief Toys are out in the wild so we could hunt together once again and bring that feeling back. 🤘🏽🖤🤘🏽
Chris love your passion and how much you care! Heather you’re so right it’s the amazing details that celebrate our favorite fandoms, it’s the moments captured, the gestures, the expressions, and it’s the pizzazz, so thank you Gastlecast for bringing the fantastic energy and pizzazz you always bring!!
These are at a store called “dirt cheap”. They get overstock and damaged items from retail stores like Walmart and target. Honestly, I think this is more of a logistical screwup because I’ve seen cases of brand new clothes in these stores that were actively being sold at target for full price.
This is most likely Target. I think that they probably were getting rid of stock and sent out the wrong boxes. Definitely feels like a Target screw up.
I would guess a target employee stole a case or 2 of these pops and sold them to a cheap store, and the store doesn't care or know what they have, so they sell them
Nope, I work at a Target. We want them gone. It's not just these black light ones from Stranger Things but also the ones from the Spider-Verse. Even some of the WWE have gone on clearance. The stores want them gone because they are not selling. at the store I work at the back wall is full of pops and so are 3 end caps full of clearance pops. it's crazy.
I don’t really put much into collectibles getting moved to other stores anymore. I frankly think the systems and the employees don’t care if it does to store A or B anymore. That’s why we see small batches of new or big name items jump to discount places, even NFTs. Just laziness. Target con was a complete zero for me this year until they showed that Kong Pop. I’m definitely getting that one.
It happened with knuckles in 2022 it showed up at a discount sores before target con. And looks like it’s happening again. I feel as if this point it’s a pattern to get people to talk about to con etc it is very odd tho imo idk why Funko does it or target. Has to be with overstocking of the product
I agree with the rest of the comments that this seems like a screw up from Target or a rogue employee took them to a store just for a photo or cash. If a rogue employee took them to a store just for cash, then (by law) that store was supposed keep them in the back of the store for a bit, just incase if some one tries to claim them as stolen or they could have see looked at the front of the boxes, seen the Target Con Sticker and done some research to know they should call Target to get them sent back and the rogue employee fired. But if it's Target's fault, then it makes them look bad for sending the wrong Pops to that one store and for that store to not make sure that they got the right Pops and it could have been only one Target or employee that screw up and that store. Ether way you look at it, this look bad for Target and that one store. But hay, for all we know, this could have been a mistake made by Funko and if that is the case, then that is 10x worse. Also, yes stores get stuff in early to be able to have the product(s) on launch day and some store will refuse to let you buy the product(s) before launch day, but some store will not wait until launch day. I see this not wait until launch day thing a lot in the Mountain Dew Community. Anyway, what do the rest of you think? Do you think it was a mistake made by Funko, Target, a non-rogue employee, something bad a rogue employee did or something else?

That's what we are leaning towards as well! Maybe they were in a mislabeled box?

It’s possible because these were probably Street dated items, and they may have gotten mixed up with some sort of return to vendor inventory.

I'm buying some today when they drop. I enjoy the mystery grails box

I'm guessing someone working at Target got product in early and took them to whatever secondary store they work at that photo was taken from.
Great name for a band. Random people at the bar missing teeth...🤘
That’s how my target shelf looks like but it looked staged just those pops in a toy aisle
i like sports pops. That Charlotte Hornets mascot is pretty cool
