    In every futuristic Nazi scenario I see, no mention is made of the extermination of the Slavic peoples. It is always either the Jews or blacks. I am not denying the particular tragedy that faced the Jewish people during the war, but it would be nice if the millions of Slavs murdered received recognition too

      @@krzysztofkowalski6681 Just because the Nazis made use of Slavic collaborators does not mean that they did not want to ethnically cleanse them. People forget that Germany's main goal was not the cliche of conquering the world. Their primary objective was to make a vast eastern empire and gain Lebensraum, or living space, in the east. • @victordonavon292

      Well think about it. One that's a small cup (not exactly something that you would stuff more than one sugar cube in and sugar cubes are larger than they appear from a distance). Two the fact that only precisely four cubes of sugar were there and were in perfect alignment and row with one another rather than in say a sugar bowl. Three, please note the tension and diction of the characters involved that indicates a power struggle. Nonverbal communication exceeds 85% of all communication. Four, please take into account the history of Heydrich Reinhard who as noted in the show was even called by Adolf Hitler, "The Man With the Iron Heart." And that was not without reason. Each component by themselves perhaps speaks little. But together they produce powerful variables that gives a vivid picture. So yes the storyline here was thought out well and the suspicion on the part of John Smith was extremely warranted.

      The series really went downhill the more you learned about it. Japan having this much difficulty in building the bomb is absurd. And even the rebells somewoh got better equipment, and very successfull, even without a millitiary leadership, and without any of proper millitiary personel. While japan has a ton of experienced leaders, and soldiers that are fought in a war. Remember, the war is still on in china at some levels. Even if japan changed, and less brutal, they csn not leave all the resources that can be obtined from amerika.
      And at the end the nazis just sayig: "well, we were nazis for 30 years, lets change it" what?! Even if a small group wants to change the reich, the same thing would happen as the walkürye in our time line.

(In real life, they were already stretching themselves to the edge of effectiveness when they attacked Pearl Harbor.)
      As for the Nazis, we see some political splintering and infighting - essentially the monster turning on itself and eating itself alive a little bit - but arguably even by the end of the series, they haven't really "lost." They divvy up the Reich into separate but cooperating states.

      only in your fantasy dude. The uniform variant in use at the start of the war was the M1936 pattern . This had replaced the old World War I-style and Weimar Republic-style uniforms (M1920 and M1928) in the mid-1930s, when the German Army expanded massively after Hitler effectively tore up the remaining provisions of the Versailles Treaty. And No Hugo Boss had nothing to do with any uniforms of the Heer. As the war progressed, greater economies were introduced due to the ever-growing shortages of materials and labour. The first practical result was the introduction of the M1943 Uniform, made up of a tunic, trousers and shirt. The tunic became a deeper gray, had six buttons, the pleats on the pockets were removed, it was cut less full, the skirts were shortened and the dark green facings were finally fully removed. Artificial linen or cotton liners gave way to artificial silk or viscose and the materials were generally of inferior quality and became shabbier, quicker. The M1936 Greatcoat was really a relic of the old Prussian military tradition of a smart long coat, unsuited to the demands of modern warfare.

      Not sure what Germany winning the war has to do with his survival. He was killed in 1942 just months after the US entered the war. Plus in this time line FDR was killed in 1933. This alone had major implications on how we got involved and could indirectly result in Anthropoid simply never happening.

      @@Christian-ki5js Hah, bullshit. Look at the US economic state before and after FDR, there were far less recessions and periods of economic downturn after the New Deal reforms were implemented compared to before.

    Can someone explain Heydrich rank to me?

    • @scottm8292
      @scottm8292  3 года назад +2

      Heydrich (in the show) is ranked Oberstgruppenführer, which is equivalent to General.
      Smith, in comparison, is an Obergruppenführer, equivalent to Lieutenant General.
      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uniforms_and_insignia_of_the_Schutzstaffel#Final_SS_ranks_1934%E2%80%931945
      Heydrich in real-life was an Obergruppenführer.

      Strangely enough , at one time maybe 40 officers in the SS outranked Heydrich . However, Himmler made him his official deputy in the early 30s, and with that he then defacto outranked everybody else.

    One mistake I can see, with Heydrich. Like Himmler, Heydrich wore white cuff titles on the left arm. Not black. Oh well.
