Mike has definitely come out of out of his shell and has become more confident, supportive, and sharing what he has learnt about the animals to the new crew members. especially around the big snakes such as juliet and Lucy.

I agree wholeheartedly with your remarks about Mike. He is genuinely affectionate to the animals, calm, knowledgeable, a good communicator. Really a solid person -- but can be silly, too. I would like to see him in a major role, if he wants it.

THE COLORADO GATOR FARM, BURNED this morning with soooo many beautiful rescue babies 😢 Brian, sorry to post here but you have so many reptile lovers and they are located in the poorest county of all of Colorado, with limited resources. They still have other animals to care for and the surviving gators, which are many, rely on the geothermal spring the Business is located on. Along with many other animals that were not in the reptile barn. Some organization and exposure could really help them take care of the other animals. Thank you for loving these animals like you do, and educating so many with your hearts mission.

Diamondback Terrapins actually live a few blocks away from my house in NJ. We live by the bay, so its brackish water. I once carried an adult female across the road just in time to avoid her getting run over. She was almost the size my torso and much heavier than I expected. They are beautiful turtles. Congrats on getting one!

Josh, the Diamondback Terrapin is gorgeous, or should I say handsome. The nice lady donated him to the Reptarium. Now everyone can enjoy Josh. Brian, thank you for telling us the conditions where a Diamondback Terrapin is found. When Josh comes out of quarantine, he will have a great enclosure. His temporary tank is not too bad for a while. Did the owner of Josh tell you how she kept him? I think it would take a long time to tour the Reptarium and learn about all the wonderful animals. I would like to learn about all of them. How is Beautiful Lucy?? She is my favourite snake. I hope she went back on food as all she has done is lie in the corner of her enclosure. Does she resent Juliette being in her home?

Love having more Lori and Jessica content on the channel! I have that exact turtle set up and it really works well! We found a quarter sized red eared slider in my dogs water bucket of all places and that's her home. We plan to keep her until she's palm sized then release her into our pond. Josh looks great!! What a great gift!!

I was a long-time member of the water bucket brigade. Anyone that is interested, there is a thing called Python water changers... you can hook them right up to the faucet and run the tube to the aquarium and it drains the water right into the sink. Then add your water conditioners (like for chlorine), reverse the flow and fill the aquarium back up.
Great video! Cool Turtle I have always liked the Diamond-Back Terrapins. They have occasionally had them at my local Reptile shop. They also had some Ornate Diamond-Back Terrapins. Sending love, good wishes and prayers from England, UK.

Diamondbacks native to my area, gorgeous and personable. Rescued many over the years and re-released back to the wild. They do best in a brackish water and be carful not to make them fat they are little eating machines, Enjoy your new friend! Also Feel better soon, best of luck !

I have a baby diamondback terrapin! They are the best! Such good personality, puppies of the turtle world!
Quick tip on putting water in tank. If you put a bowl in the tank and slowly add water to that there is less disturbance of the rocks and things you have already put in tank. Josh looks great 👍
Diamondback Terrapins are native around where I live in coastal New Jersey. During egg-laying season you have to drive carefully near the marshes because they frequently cross the roads looking for a place to lay eggs. Very cool turtles.
I raised a diandback terrapin the size of a quarter. He was a seagull victim and he is now in a pond easily the size of yours. Very smart turtles these. And beautiful too.

So so so glad to see this. I've been thinking for the last week or so about trying to get ahold of Lori somehow just to say no one knows you as well as she does and no time could be better than right now to get you something special that you have always wanted to pep you up some. I know it's got to be hard on everyone but even more so when everyone is used to you being the one to lift everyone up. You've got this! Here's to the next decade+ 🍻
Lori, i have always had a problem with those filters
i used to be big into fishkeeping, and i tried a various amount of different loose charcoal filters, and each one gave me trouble, and then , there is this bottle of stuff you need to put in, either the sponge or that ceramic stuff, to start bacteria growth, because without the bacteria to eat the waste, the filter wont work properly
the only good about them, is you can save some money, since you can take the carbon out, and sit it in the sun, to reactivate it
that prime is some good stuff, it's one of the first chemicals i recommend for any tank with water

Might want to use bigger rocks on the turtle tank for ‘Josh’ They will sometimes eat rocks that are small enough to swallow and if they eat too many they will not be able to pass them and can die as a result

Joshs enclosure looks great, I have a pair of yellow sliders, and before they out grew their tank, I used a fluval 406, and they used to love swimming again the inlet. They would swim as hard as possible until it eventually beat them, then they would fly around the tank in the current. I would definitely recommend a filter rated for 3 times the size of their enclosure to anyone getting a terrapin as they are really messy.

LOVE this video! I wish you would devote a video to the two-headed turtles and other rare animals at your facility. I also thought it was cool the way the two ladies decorated the new tank for the new turtle. And there was a good shot of Brian's ponytail, which I didn't realize was so long.
