I bought this flashlight and i use it in industry at work every day. It feel to the ground countless times and it still works as the day i bought it. I also gave on to my father who also abused it quite well and it still goes strong after years. the only thing I changed on the fathers light was the switch. Other than that no issues... These lights are rock solid. Also the replacement parts are also next to nothing in price :)

Great review! Three years later and the price has almost doubled... just ordered mine. IMO 5000k is a neutral colour, 6500 is on the blue side and 4000 is more yellow.
Some Informationen for anyone interested in buying one: you can find dozens of different configurations of this light. If you just want a flashlight, in Case you need one, get the cheapest one. They are Sometimes on sale for less than 10€. If you have specific needs, check reviews, don't hunt lumens. There are high CRI Options, etc.
I have em almost all. High CRI is more valuable than you might think. The best S2+ is SST20/Nichia at color 4000-4500 and with 4-6 x 7135 and Biscotti firmware. The high lumens SST40 or XM-L Hi sucks the battery faster than a sponge and gets quickly too hot and reverts to normal mode after a couple of minutes.
Hey Jake, you just sold me on that flashlight! Now all I would like to know is, does it accept 18650 battery that is 69mm long (you know the ones that have micro USB port, hence that is why they are a bit longer)?
no, you can't do either. Your battery has to be charged out of the flashlight. And there are no good places to get good 18650 batteries for cheap price in Canada. You can get garbage ones cheap or good ones for a fair bit of 4 - most easily from VAPE shops. I was lucky I got some 18650's from Olightstore.ca when they first opened. Now they are $25 each for 3000mAh and HIGH DRAIN You can get 10% off with code: CCE10 but use my links to open the page and I will get a small commission then too: CANADA: caolightstore.idevaffiliate.com/199.html USA: olight.idevaffiliate.com/idevaffiliate.php?id=619
the intensity of the light does not go down until the voltage starts to drop dramatically, such as happens when the battery is below 10% charge left - until then there is no dimming due to battery use.
It is emmiting light constantly and when the battery starts to get low my s2 plus starts to blink in a slow motion and you know that the battery is low yet you can still use it to get home and charge it. This flashlight throws led lenser out of the windows loolz :P
This video is several years old and I no longer have this flashlight so I cannot say for certain. You are right, I should have included the answer to that question. (I have to sell most of what I review in order to be able to afford to buy more stuff to review)
@@CanadianCuttingEdgethe light in this video uses a reverse clicky switch, so to answer Dan's question, no it does not have momentary on function. However you can order a forward clicky switch to get the momentary on like he was talking about :)
The one and only thing i really hate about this light is those strobe modes. WE ONLY NEED LOW, MEDIUM AND HIGH and thats it... But they create all sorts of nonsense with the modes. You can get a decree out of these modes loolz :P
I saw all your comments. I agree. They are solid, and I too prefer just a few simple settings - of the type that don't require you to memorize a bunch of stuff just so you can use the thing.
Yeah, I hate strobe modes when put in the standard config. On these you can look up how to set it so that you remove the blinking modes. The only flashing mode I would use is bike mode, but that's constant on with some brief brighter pulses for visibility.
On the highest setting you get about 90 minutes of very bright light and at the end you get another 45 minutes or so of lower light levels BUT it depends on the battery you use. Many S2+ are sold without a battery and you can buy 18650 batteries that have 1600mAh all the way up to 3500+mAh and of course the higher mAh the longer the flashlight will run for.
I don't know. I no longer have this flashlight or the manual. I give away or sell most goods I review a few months after doing the video, I just don't have room for it all.
This is expected behaviour I think. You can switch between the default modes (without strobe and sos) and the strobe/sos mode. You do this by turning on the light in "low" mode and then wait for the light to blink once after 2-3 seconds. When it blinked, immediately turn off the flashlight. Now when you turn it back on you have changed to the other mode with or without strobe/sos.
In Canada it's not as easy as anywhere else. I guy mine online from either olight or everythingfenix.com You can SAVE 12% there with code: CCE2021 Whatever you do, don't buy the cheap batteries you can find on Amazon - they are all garbage. The other option, but the costliest is to shop at a VAPE store, most cities have them these days, and they carry the HIGH DRAIN type as that is needed for vaping
@@nerfinator03 I bought it from banggood. Got my money refunded. I still have the flashlight, but it's collecting dust. I need to buy a tool to open up the rings in flashlights. I'm using my astrolux ec01 and s43 instead.

It does actually do a tail stand just fine - IF I put the lanyard in the correct hole. Yup, I do make mistakes sometimes.

Hi winnie the pooh. I have grown up watching you. Nice to see you still have a show
I have the S2 version for a while now and it still works great. This new one seems to have more of a spotlight beam.
As in the non-plus S2 with the deep reflector?
Right.
The convoy flashlights throw led lenser and high price flashlights out of the window :P
Cool
the lanyard should be attached through the two holes in tail to avoid having to pull it to the side to tail stand
I realized that the day after I posted the video. Thanks.

What is better
Convoy s2+ with sst40 or the one with sft40
I would usually suggest the SFT40

can you use AAs? Can you charge it via a USB in flashlight if you have 18650s?
