It reminds one in parts of the sohar sung at weddings. The whole 'raga' puts one in that "joyful/sad" mood of the parents who is losing a daughter! Weddings have a bitter sweet taste about it at least to bring tears to a mother's eyes! But the song can be sung to welcome anyone special!
