Marshall if you read this, you were a huge inspiration in my life. The impact of seeing you run for the first time along with Bob Hayes, made me want to be great at track too. I admired you also as a leader who stood up for what he believed in like Tommie Smith and Carlos (I was at the Indiana basketball game at Jenison). You are more than deserving of this Hall of Fame honor.
I remember as a freshman walking into Northern high School football locker room and looking up on the wall and noticing a picture of Marshall deal locker room was so small but they had this large picture of Mr deal black and white picture I never forget it right across across from the cage where you get your equipment from. He's a legend .
