I totally understand why your mother wanted to visit the DMZ.👍🏻 As a German this is probably the first place I would also want to see. I was born only 11 years after Germany was reunited. A large part of my family was separated and my father of course still remembers how difficult and sometimes impossible it was to visit the relatives in the DDR (GDR). And of course those could never leave their own country. My grandparents fled after WW 2 to a different part of Germany and suddenly they lived in a different country than their parents and siblings. My parents grew up and for them it was totally normal to have two Germanys and people dying on the border when they tried to escape. I'm the first generation of people who grew up in one united country and I hope so much that one day this dream comes true for Korea! ❤️🇩🇪🇰🇷
