Probably THE biggest inspiration in my own guitar playing. The thing I love best is that while he is not the fastest... not a shredder... he makes every note count. Plays from the soul. I'll take that any day over a thousand-note-solo every day. Our versions of 'Oye' and 'Smooth' fill the dance floor every time. Next on my list to learn is the beautiful 'Europa'. Speaks to me. I’m writing here because of my best friend (also a musician) whom I lost three years ago. He would always buy me a concert ticket (for my birthday-July 21st) around when Carlos was in Toronto. Thoroughly enjoyed Carlos live shows. The money was worth every minute of his performance. My friend was one of your biggest fan. I missed my friend a lot but still have the memories we shared at your concerts.
Sorry for your loss...of such a good friend! You will have great memories to treasure.

I love Carlos! He lives in the Bay Area in Northern California. I have seen him several times in my life! Since he moved to Los Vegas, I can’t see him much anymore! He has been a HUGE effluence on my life! I will always thank him for him giving of himself to charities!

The Santana Family Moved from The State of Jalisco When he was only a child To Tijuana Baja California Mexico, his Father a Member of a Mariachi Started to teach Carlos the art of playing the Violin, in those times Tijuana was Booming with Many Music Styles being played, Carlos Started to play the Guitar and found a Tijuana Guitarist Javier Batiz Playing Rock and Roll at one of the Great Places to Dance and Hear Groups play on Revolution Ave this is how Javier mentored Carlos Santana in to Rock and Roll

What a talent.
These are amazing accomplishments somebody can do with a guitar, that's how powerful music is. I can hear a really strong latin influence in the music, very rhythmic. It comes from way, way south, from way down in rice and bean country. I can't even compare to something like this, all I have is a few harrowing sea stories, an old house in the middle of nowhere, and a Native American Vision I like to believe in because it can help bring me back on track, it helps to talk about it sometimes because it gives me a sense of direction. Sometimes I dont have a sense of direction. I just walk around and dont know where I'm going or what I'm doing.

i remember hearing carlos back in the days down mission street for free the mexican brother has brought the true spirt of latin soul mixing blues and rock and mexican music together that shoudl open the minds to people that we mexican people have more to offer to this country than gardening or house cleaning or how sum people look at us as thank you carlos for following your dream and bringing pride to the mexican people in mexico and for chicanos mexican americans like me teaching us that we all as people no matter who you are following your dream can come to offering the world like you have carlos !!!!!!( you have gave the world beautiful music ) and brought pride to us mexican americans here in the USA for ever a fan of yours since a child gabrielrey
