He was perfect as an English Butler.. my favorite was wonderful E.E. Clive, famous in the "Bull Dog Drummond" series from the 1930's with John Howard and John Barrymore.....
Thank you for all of the wonderful classic movies!! I have enjoyed watching them since last fall. I started with Basil Rathbone in Sherlock Holmes. I will continue to watch and recommend your channel to other aficionados of classic film.
Classy film. John Miljan had a long career, but I wonder why he didn't specialize in romantic leading man parts. He was great in the part. His right profile resembles John Barrymore and I'm sure it isn't by accident.
We're not supposed to like the bad guy, but I REALLY didn't like Drasin. Owsley did too good a job. I didn't want to see him on screen at all. Slimy scuz ball, get your hands off that woman! I mean Owsley, the actor, get your hands off that actress! I don't care what the script says. And an actor who, in real life, is type cast as a butler, has a role as an actor who is so type cast as a butler that he plays a butler in the scam. He, in role, takes it as a great compliment when the Sparrow tells him he should BE a real butler.
I remember a near copy, plot wise, made in the 70s(?) w/ James Garner re: a group of Nazis using the same deal to get Garner to tell them when D-Day was. He had a paper cut on a finger instead of a razor nick on the chin.
hilarious how no one gets the real plot even tho it's in the title. a married woman entertaining other men because fantasy. edit: and next up is 'Lonely Wives' (1931) HAHAHAHA. 😂
My husbands been watching your stuff at night and now whilst he’s watching the cricket i’m watching them on my pad. They’ve been very good and iVe enjoyed them all so far. Thanks for uo (or down) loading
I got confused about WHO is Who. I broke my rule by watching it sober. Tomorrow, I'll pop a magnum of wine and watch this film a second time. That will make it crystal-clear !.....maybe.
Kooky fun ! All’s well that ends well. A look-alike husband is kidnapped in order to sign for some bonds, hoping that he will settle for a share in the ploy.
Hey, PizzaFlix! It's I -- the ornery old Southern lady with the weird name. I'm having a great time working my way through all your pre-Code goodies. Let's hear it for public domain, right? Thank you for making these fun, though largely forgotten, films. They're like little windows into American social norms and mores of 90 years ago. Granted, the windows distort reality, but hey -- that's movies for ya.
Above average B+ movie. Good plot and actors. Thanks for not letting movies like these get lost forever, PizzaFlix.
Thanks for watching PizzaFLIX. May the Sauce be with you. 🍕🍕🍕
102: 'You cheap crook' - 'I resent the word cheap' - Great response. at least he has some standards?
What a wonder of zaniness! Excellent, just racy enough too (good old pre-code). Thanks so much PizzaFlix, you sure know how to pick 'em! 💖 🇨🇦

Very entertaining film.

Should have played the brother of John Boles.
Monroe Owsley is always great as the slimey character.

That was one heck of a wing collar the protagonist wore in the opening scene.

Monroe Osley - he's the "Eddie Haskell" of the 30s in most of his movies.
He's great with Clara Bow in "The Savage." A real heal.
What a name!

Enjoyed. Good ending. 😊.
To say that this insouciant meringue stretches the limits of probability to breaking point doesn't take anything away from its addle-pated enjoyment.
