LOL! Yes, I know what all that means. So you have an HDMI 2.0b cable which you can test on a Denon AVR as well. Both Marantz and Denon are owned by the same company, so it's pretty much the same. Try the steps on your Denon and see if you will enter the HDMI Diagnostic area. All that being said, sometimes my screen goes black when I switch inputs. It could just be a normal thing....
@@TechnoDad Sounds good, I will test it, thank you, Yes, it seems similar to what happens to the screen when you would switch inputs...however, mine will happen (when it is at its worst) 10 times or so during a movie. It seems like I remember the problem seemed to go away when I switched a setting in AppleTv from 4:4:4 to 4:2:2...but it happens so sporadically, it is hard to nail down. (Tv is 2018 LG b series) Thanks again Channa. You have been responsible for the TV I purchased, the denon receiver, 13 Klipsch speakers, and the 2 SVS PB 4000s. Keep up the good work!!
I also just watched a video with Vincent Teoh performing the same test you did with the PS5 cable and it passed the 40gb test. So I'm not sure why you would put out false information about the PS5 cable not being 2.1. I mean it passed the 2.1 test so I'm assuming that it is. Maybe you did your own test and had different results I guess. I just find it odd that you made those statements.
False information?? Have you seen the cable that comes with the PS5? It literally says on the cable "High-Speed HDMI Cable." An HDMI 2.1 or 8K HDMI cable is called an "Ultra High-Speed HDMI Cable." I tested the PS5 cable along with the OEM cables from the Series S and the Series X. The Series X cable says Ultra High-Speed HDMI Cable and the Series S cable says High-Speed HDMI on it. I have it all in my video - ruclips.net/video/x0kcsFXGPUg/видео.html - go to the 4:04 mark and you'll see the cable that came with the PS5. Again, it is not an HDMI 2.1 cable. Why did Sony do this? I don't know. They should have included an Ultra High-Speed Cable but they did not. Clearly whatever they included with the PS5 doesn't have good quality control if myself and Mike from MyGadgetsWorld kept getting a 30% fail rate and Vincent didn't get any fails.
@@TechnoDad Yea I guess you're right, that's crazy man. You obviously did a lot more testing than he did because your results speak for themselves. Glad you put in the extra time to get a more representative view of what that cable is all about. That wasn't false information at all, you know what you're talking about bro. My apologies for doubting you!!!
Did you test a short cable? I mean if we get 50 pass of 50. Then we know that your test setup is "stable". And if it fails when you have short cable then it is the test bed and not the cable. And we should expect also of that reason failures on whatever cable or length you test IF your test bed is unstable.
If the cable that came with your PS5 reaches your TV, you do not need to replace your cable. You will see zero performance improvement from replacing your cable as long as your current cable works without dropouts or obvious image issues (like the screen glitching out)
@@TechnoDad Is it? At that price. I have a broadcasting hdmi cable used by the industry for my projector. That's a 50 ft run and that cable was around the 75 mark. This is over priced. New tech though so it will be.

@@marcyoung6022 I use a 2.0 cinnamon for arc and another for video but my avm 60 doesn’t support 2.1 the new one does not upgrading just for it i use the tv instead for picking my HDMI port
I would go with the Zeskit cable for the PS5. I use the Belkin HDMI 2.1 cable as it's longer and my Series X uses the shorter Zeskit cable.
@@TechnoDad would zeskit also be good for the rtx 3070 GPU to lg cx
Is there a way to test your hdmi cable on a Denon?
My 4k AppleTv keeps going black (for a second) then returns to normal when watching movies.
I am running a 50ft fiber optic with the following specs: 4k 60htz, 2.0b, hdr10, arc, hdcp2.2, 3D, 18gbps, 4:4:4, 4:2:2, 4:2:0....hopefully you know what all that stuff means. Lol
@@TechnoDad Sounds good, I will test it, thank you,
Yes, it seems similar to what happens to the screen when you would switch inputs...however, mine will happen (when it is at its worst) 10 times or so during a movie.
Are the stats I listed above for the cable, healthy enough for 4k AppleTv streaming Dolby vision?
It seems like I remember the problem seemed to go away when I switched a setting in AppleTv from 4:4:4 to 4:2:2...but it happens so sporadically, it is hard to nail down.
(Tv is 2018 LG b series)
Thanks again Channa. You have been responsible for the TV I purchased, the denon receiver, 13 Klipsch speakers, and the 2 SVS PB 4000s.
Keep up the good work!!
That seems excessive. Might need to try a cable swap and see what happens.
I did, it’s in that sheet. Three foot 4K cables passed 40Gbps just fine.
@@TechnoDad I can't see if you tested it fine 50 times?
Thanks for your testing.
hdmi cables are digital.. they work or they dont work please tell me the difference between a certified £20 hdmi 2.1 cable and a £400 hdmi cable
There is none. These people are clowns. Amazon basics cable works perfectly.
Why is dragon 48 more expensive than dragon eArc ?
I don't know.
So the hdmi cable that comes with the series x doesn’t perform as well?
The OEM Xbox cable is fine. The OEM PS5 cable is not good.
@@TechnoDad cool thank for the info i was about to blow $60 on a new cable like a fool🤦♂️😂
Are you kidding, you definitely have sold out. I’ve always liked your channel, but now can’t believe anything you say, unsubscribed.
Dose it work on Xbox series s
Have anyone tested FiberCommand cables over long distances? >50’
No, I haven't
Do we have news from Denon about 2021 receivers? As I’m looking to upgrade to a 9.2 system an looking at the 4700-AVR model?
Nothing yet...
So would these be better to play on then the hdmi 2.1 that comes with the ps5?
Yeah, but you won't necessarily need to spend this much - technodad.biz/HDMITest
If the cable that came with your PS5 reaches your TV, you do not need to replace your cable. You will see zero performance improvement from replacing your cable as long as your current cable works without dropouts or obvious image issues (like the screen glitching out)
Expensive cables. Although they seem quality
Yeah, it all depends on your budget really
@@TechnoDad Is it? At that price. I have a broadcasting hdmi cable used by the industry for my projector. That's a 50 ft run and that cable was around the 75 mark. This is over priced. New tech though so it will be.
I meant it depends on how much you want to spend. I personally would not. If I was to run an HDMI longer that 15 feet, I would go with an optical cable, which is around $150.
I swear someone tested the ps5 cable with their receiver and it came out to 40 gbps. Gonna have to look for that video again
It passed 7 out of 10 times, but it's not an 8K cable. It literally says High-Speed HDMI on it, which is a 4K cable. It should say Ultra High-Speed HDMI Cable on it, like the Series X cable.
@@TechnoDad: Vincent Teoh's PS5 HDMI cable passed 8K 40Gbps on 100% of his tests conducted on a Denon X2700H. Perhaps there are QC issues with the HDMI cable supplied with PS5?
I thought all current sources and displays were all capped at 40?
@@IAmRyan25 I know the New Denon receivers are, I think my Lg screen is not capped
With many 4K, 8K & even 16K. vids on youtube. There is no matching setting with the vid. Many are just set at 720p. Am I missing something here ? 👍
Why in gods name are you testing expensive cables? 48gbps cables are like $5 each and there is no difference...because its digital.
I recently got Audioquest pearl 48 (5ft). Is it 2.1 and is it considered a better cable than the one that comes with the PS5?
Yes, I think it's better than the PS5 OEM cable. Mine wasn't Ultra-High Speed.
@@TechnoDad Ok thanks for your reply. Keep up the good works.
JUST BOUGHT IT
Hey these things happen ? These things shouldnt happen and companies shouldnt get away with it. Same as electronics glitches shouldnt happen recievers tvs ect these days not a day that goes by where there isnt a recall on something
Should i buy a 2,300 dollar dragon 48!? Or a cheap cable with no silver investment +a greater picture
I wouldn’t spend that much on a cable.
Imagine thinking digital information can change depending on the cable. You should feel deep shame for promoting cables designed to con people out of their hard earned money.
I have this cable and the build quality is just phenomenal! It will outlast 20 standard cables for sure
Best buy cinnamon audioquest for $800... You are sipping the kool aid hard man. You aren't even supposed to use a cable over 10feet according to the specs.
Ricable Visus HDMI 2.1
Lame. Test the Dragon.
Sure thing! Send one over!
There is no such thing as HDMI 2.1 cable. HDMI cable are certified as standard (Cat1) 4.95 Gb/s, High (Cat2) 10.2 Gb/s, Premium (Cat3) 18 Gb/s and Ultra (Cat4) 48 Gb/s. Audioquest Forest 48 is Ultra 48 Gb/s certified.
Snake oil cables.
I will NEVER pay that much for a cable !
Yeah, me neither!
40 gb
Beware of snake oil 🚽
Wait wait....so you’re telling me that my ps5 can’t do 4K @ 120 ???? Should I even buy a new hdmi then ????
It'll send that signal, but it's upscaling and not rendering 4K120 natively.
The only HDMI cable that can improve picture quality is Mcable that has processing built into the cable.
Ye audio quest makes some nice quality cables with good materials but it won't improve the picture
No HDMI cable will improve a picture. The digital info is the same, always.
@@DamnDealDone mclassic is different. It has a computer chip inside that does postprocessing anti aliasing.
Really good for game consoles such as Nintendo switch
Complete nonsense.. HDMI either works or it doesn't. Buy a properly built HDMI cable (at a cheap price) and understand that you have as good as it gets. No expensive cabe will do better. But, snake oil sells...
Using supra 8k cable
Nice!
Got on here to figure out why audioquest so expensive. Definitely not paying over $50 for dammmmm cable
Yeah, it’s not worth it. I tested a bunch of cables and put them here - technodad.biz/HDMITest
Audioquest lol yeah I'm good I personally believe it's a scam. They look beautiful on the outside if that's what you care about then have at it.
Yeah, they are definitely overpriced.
the rent is too damn high
LOL!

Any one else keep hearing a snake hiss?
Lol! Ssssssss
Lol, the Audiioquest was shown as not worth it.
How much is best buy paying you to try and sell their new overpriced cables? Pathetic
No response from Mr. Techno Dad... *tumbleweeds roll by*
40 gbps
Yes...
vlaka
Audioquest is not the best. Anything over 10ft is suspect & not 2.1. don't trust anything without the certificate.

@@TechnoDad that doesn't prove anything. I applaud your effort but you see, I'm an audio visual director so hdmi, vga, ethernet cables are my business & we use commercial grade stuff that better than audio quest. 900 dollars is fir rich people to think that it is only way but it's not.
