Europe Self-Destructing for U.S. Proxy War In Ukraine, w/ Prabhat Patnaik

  • When the war in Ukraine began, Western officials bragged that they were going to “turn the ruble into rubble” and bring Russia to its knees. Seven months later, as the war and sanctions drag on with no end in sight, it’s the Euro that is turning to rubble and Europe being brought to its knees. It turns out sanctioning your largest gas supplier with no alternative in place, following years of stagnation and an economy-destroying pandemic, isn’t a great idea.
To discuss the economic fallout for the Europe and the impact it’s having under neoliberalism, Rania Khalek was joined by Prahbat Patnaik, Marxist economist, Professor Emeritus at JNU, and author of “Capital and Imperialism: Theory, History, and the Present,” co-authored with Utsa Patnaik.

Europe has hitched a ride on America's falling star. Russia can and has experienced setbacks in the Ukraine war - one that America was praying for. But Russia will win the war. The casualty ratio alone is about 15 Ukrainian soldiers for every Russian. China can and has experienced a periodic slowing down in their economic expansion through the Belt and Road Initiative due to U.S. interference. But China will continue to initiate quid pro quo infrastructure and trade deals throughout the world. Europe sooner or later will wish they had chosen different alliances. But "The West" will likely have been swallowed up by fascism.

      Nonsense.
The privatized US defense industry’s profit driven « just in time » management approach has resulted in a disastrous lack of equipment, munitions, training and combat-readiness, compounded by a lack of surge capacity which is proving to be a catastrophe in the face of the proxy war conflict which the U.S. neocon regime itself has orchestrated, stoked up and provoked since 2014 in order to attack Russia’s defence security, economy and existence as the worlds largest country.
Competent military experts and specialized analysts state unambiguously that the U.S. neocon regime would be capable today of engaging barely 40,000 combat ready U.S. soldiers in the Ukraine conflict with 40,000 in back up logistics.
A disaster since the myth of US military supremacy, competence and invincibility has been exposed for what it is: a lying façade.
Furthermore, such a force of 40,000 US soldiers could hold out barely a few months before running out of munitions in the high intensity conventional warfare which Russia is deploying highly effectively using intelligence, reconnaissance and surveillance technology as the world’s largest and most experienced military power today, alongside its equally combat ready friend and neighbour, China.
Both Russia and China (even more so) are far ahead of the U.S. neocon regime in terms of military technology, logistics and surge capacity.
They are also being threatened and attacked by the US neocon regime on hold ground.
The major US neocon problems related to its big profit privatised industrial complex model are well known: endemic corruption; lack of transparent accountability; money laundering issues (eg where have the billions announced for Ukraine actually been sent and spent ?); the private military arms manufacturers’ close involvement in the government compromise both materially, ethically and morally; the revolving doors between the army the directorship of arms manufacturers senior defence ministry positions etc, are inherently corrupting given the conflict of interest issues, and the promotion of the U.S. neocon regime’s permanent war policies which provoke and fuel genocidal wars across the globe, year after year, in order to create market demand and engineer arms manufacturing industry key market share (ie merchants of death seeking to profit from genocidal wars for commercial motives); the lucrative lobbying activity of arms manufacturers campaigning aimed at getting vast arms expenditure budgets voted in with bipartisan support, with huge opaque paybacks for congressional politicians who serve in order to become millionaires, and in order to receive political sponsorship from big donors in order to serve the latters’ interests, etc, etc, etc ad nauseam.
Russia’s liberal economy combined with a rigorously well planned state sector is proving to be a superior model. With its strong reserves and proven resilience in the face of an attempted full frontal U.S. neocon economic attack Russia is resisting, pivoting its entire economy in a few months and prospering even better than before, whilst sustaining a quickly mobilized war effort industry which it can sustain for years as necessary.
To the contrary, the irresponsibly liberal U.S. neocon regime’s profit only model is proving to be disastrous. Sanctions have boomeranged on the U.S. neocon regime and a servile Europe.
The profit motive has led to the duplicitous U.S. neocon regime’s attacking its own NATO allies Germany and the EU by destroying the key energy infrastructure Nordstream 1&2.
      Bad move.
Both NATO and the EU will be disbanded, since the U.S. neocon regime committed an act of war against its so-called NATO, Germany and the EU, in order to destroy their economies and relocate key German industries on U.S. territory in violation of EU competition law.
The failure to defend the population of Europe and the corruption of EU bureaucracy, will trigger its defunding and a reconfiguration of the Old European economies if they are to withstand the US attack and rebuild ties fast with Russia, China and BRICS+++ as dedollarisation accelerates worldwide.

I am sure people staying in the EU zone know what is voting and representation - they were feed daily dosages of democracy human rights and voting. if they put up with the EU system accepted the EU system without protests or revolt then you cannot say "they don't deserve it.." or "Nobody asked ..."

How would the English, Germans, Italians, etc. respond to the French calling themselves "The Only Europeans"?
The AMERICAN CONTINENT is composed of 35 sovereign nations and about one billion people.. each of these people are proud to be American.
Haiti and the Dominican Republic were initially in the same island called Hispaniola... this was
AMERICA, 100 years before the first Unitedstadian city called Jamestown!!!
The people of the United States of America, do not speak for all AMERICANS.
Why could it be that the Unitedstadians think and present themselves as the only AMERICANS?
Unitedstadians could consider being respectful to the other AMERICANS who live in other parts of America.

There is a weak point in the Prahbat Patnaik's explanations of American imperialism against either the Russian socialist ideology or against the indepetant ideology. Germany seems to be fully pro-American ideology. Bul look what has become of the alliance and "friendship" between these two countries. It feels like "ideology aside" now, and strictly economic interests are at play. With that, America is, for now (until the dollar loses its status of the world reserve currency) is winning economically, even though its ideological position is already questioned by many.

      @Parousia001 Год назад

Exactly! The globalist elites are the true fascists, and it doesn’t seem to matter whether they’re on the left or the right. For some reason, the current definition of fascism includes nationalism and traditional values, which is ridiculous, imo. There really isn’t any real relationship between the latter and fascism, that I can tell.
