    That goose is pretty impactful on the beige paper imo. In Australia we say "ahhh ya goose" instead of "you muppet" in the UK 😆. I say both because I like to think I'm bilingual 🤓. There is nowhere more beautiful than the English coast on a (sunny) summers day. Many many memories (also many more in the rain). Had to laugh as well as my husband is always banging on about the memories of his Dad having a red Triumph car when he was little (early 70s). They were in Devon at that stage so that's probably it! Thanks again for another cool vid 😎

    Both paintings turned out fantastic. I love how you do the cliff sides. You capture the depth so well (but not sure if I’m explaining that correctly 😊). And I agree that the black , white and greys of the goose contrast very nicely on the tan paper. I’ve been curious about the S & B tan paper for some time now and next time I get some supplies, I’ll try to budget one in. Sarah Burns uses them quite a bit and I just love her work. But of course her work would look good on any surface LOL. What a beautiful walk that was. Thanks for taking us along.

    Great views, lovely flowers, ( I thought they were hot house flowers obviously not ), also the scenery of Cornwall is divine, the boats, thatched cottage rooves, just everything you filmed! Like the little sketch of the cove & was amazed at the white splodge becoming a goose! Clever. And the last shot the eye of the goose was what stood out to me, then you mention the eye, super. As usual very enjoyable. Thanks

    Whoa. What a video! I'd watch a minute or so and start a comment because WOW and then in the next moment erase the comment because BIGGER WOW. And the next moment......The gorgeous path (and that your injection seems to have helped?), the beautiful village, the sea, the "fast sketch" that's awesome, your art kit, the evolving painting, the disappearing boat, the completion of the painting, painting in bed, the GOOSE!!!!, the Coast Guard call??? That injection must have really helped. WOW WOW WOW WOW - and all of it in 8 minutes.

      Haha! Your comment made me laugh so much - thank you!!! I'm really glad you liked the video! And yes, it's such a huge relief that the injection is starting to help.

    What a beautiful walk,I loved the colours of all the flowers along the way, and how relaxing to sit and paint there by the lookout, both your paintings were beautiful,I liked how you took the boat out of the painting,did you literally just paint over it,I quite often want to remove something but just end up with an overworked mess 😂

    • @helencryer
      @helencryer  2 месяца назад

      Thank you! To remove the boat I went over it with a white Tempera Paint Stick. I think it's the most opaque white medium I own. It probably wouldn't look great in a purely watercolour painting, because you'd still notice it, but I can get away with it in a mixed media painting where some of the textures are looking different anyway.

    Nice goose! Just ordered a couple of bird books, because I guess I had a similar to yours about painting birds 😅Love the cove. Would so much more like to visit this cove, than crowded Greek islands. Can you go swimming there? Is it allowed? I saw only fisher boats at the little sandy “beach”. 😊

      Ooo - enjoy your books!
      I had a wonderful Greek Island holiday at the end of April, and the beaches were deserted!! It is lovely here though. There are two beach areas in Cadgwith (both stony). The second one which couldn't be seen in the video, is where people swim.
