My fav thing about this whole branding of exploding kittens is that you can take some cards from all packs and make an entirely new game want normal exploding kittens, but with a god and a devil? go ahead! want zombie kittens with the streaking kittens expansion pack? go ahead! sure, a few minor changes might have to be made but that's pretty much it!
Right?! The variety ins insane! It’s what keeps fans coming back for more.

Bought both plus recipes for disaster and create a recipie with the fun of both versions added with the variety of recipies

I got the NSFW base game a few years back, then the streaking kittens and now I got the zombie one and mixed the cards. Like this it's dope especially with more than 2 ppl

Hi! I just subscribed and joined the Exploding Kittens community.
I know this is unrelated, but I'm planning to get the Original and Barking Kittens (since they come in a combo on the official website), the Imploding Kittens, a Party Pack and Recipes for Disasters. And yes, I can make use of them effectively as my family is pretty big and they all love this game lol. What's your opinion on my choices? If you don't think my decision is good enough, can you please give me some recommendations? Thanks a bunch :)

I’d only make one point: Recipes For Disaster is like a “Greatest Hits” collection, meaning that it doesn’t have anything new included other than the Recipe cards themselves. With the other base games and expansions that you’ve mentioned, you’d have everything that Recipes has by just adding the Streaking Kittens expansion! As an owner of Recipes, I love the collection, and there’s definitely no harm in owning it. I’m so excited for the future game nights that you’ll host with friends and family!

One is an expanded version of the base game, the other is an alternate version of the base game, that can be also be used as an expansion.
Obviously get both, but Zombies offers more upfront, so it’s the priority if sheer content is your goal. GvE is easier to implement gameplay wise if you don’t want to overcomplicate the game any further.
I totally agree with you!! Both offer something fun and creative to the gameplay. While Zombie adds an exciting jolt for sure, GvE is refreshingly straightforward. Like you said, it totally depends on what your goal is. Take care and have an awesome day!!
one the one hand zombie gives many new mechanics but
good vs evil is freeing or you can play with or without the new mechanic with some sprinkle of new mechanics

Never try good vs evil though but I have zombie kitten and that was awesome, it's unlock the whole new strategy like if you explode first you can just die and wait for the othe for resurrection you latter in the game. so you can safe your zombie kittens card.
Also Attack of the death card is so deadly 💀
Zombie Kittens all the way!! I totally agree with you. Zombie changed the way we play the game in a huge way. The Attack of the Dead card is an absolute menace to society.😂💀
You should review Uno No Mercy if you haven't already, it is brutal.

Suprised that "reverse" isn't a standard card in these, I guess they want people to keep buying the expansions. I feel like he base game isn't complete withouth reverse, it really takes the game to another level.
I totally agree with you!! The Reverse is right up there with the Skips and Nopes in terms of “essential” EK cards.
Obviously Zombie Kitten. Since I bought Zombie Kitten we aren't playing the original Exploding Kitten game anymore.

Recipes for disaster has streaking, barking and imploding kittens.
Recipes is a great option! But if you don’t want that many cards, Streaking Kittens is amazing.
