I had shade cloth up for 6 months this "summer" since the sun was so intense. Never had to do that before but now my tomatoes, peppers and chard are growing nicely. We don't get frost here so I hope the plants will over winter. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
This summer was brutal here too. Unfortunately, we have the bad summers and winters here. The only thing I like about the winters is it gives me a break from the day to day gardening grind. The shade cloth and drip irrigation was a game changer for me.
Have you guys looked up the irrigation needs of plants being grown in arid environments? It's something like a ten fold increase vs the same plants growing in a humid, temperate environment. Truly insane.
@@losclaveles Thanks for that info. I grew the same types of plants two years ago ad they did fine. This year, everything suffered with the intense sun. :( I may move some plants indoors to see how they do in the future.
Hey bud! Is there a way for me to contact you privately? I'd love to chat about my land in Argentina's wine country. I have a caliche layer a foot thick! Luckily there is six to twelve inches of nice soil on top of it.
Nice cat and chicken 🐔🐔
Thanks!
i need to move to the outskirts of Laredo and do what your doing. So much work but so much reward after.
Hey Homer, living in town has its benefits too, but I prefer the country life and freedoms. Hoping all that hard work pays off some day 🤞
yes extra room for melons is awesome
I need to figure out how to grow bigger melons; mine usually end up being pretty small and tasteless.
Looking great brother, bet you have a bountiful harvest next year.
Thanks, I hope so! If I can keep this up each year, it should get better over time.

@@WestTexasGardenExperiment I will have to work on drip irrigation since I was watering every day to keep things alive. Cheers.

@@losclaveles I'm not surprised, but it sure beats spending an hour+ watering daily during the hot months.
