Young Steinway Artist, UTSAV LAL is an Indian pianist, improviser, educator and composer.Often known as the ‘Raga Pianist’, Lal is recognized as a musician extraordinaire who has set a precedent in the world of music with his rendition of Indian Classical Music on Piano.
Acclaimed for his groundbreaking work, Lal has gained international success with solo performances at the world’s leading venues that include Carnegie Hall-NYC, Southbank Centre-London, Kennedy Center-DC & Steinway Hall-New York.
Lal has a BA in Jazz (RCS, Glasgow) & MA in Contemporary Improvisation (New England Conservatory of Music) and is a disciple of Ustad Wasifuddin Dagar.
Treading the line between an ancient tradition and an innate desire for innovation with utmost respect Lal's music is acclaimed for its powerful intensity that sweeps the audience into a transcendental journey.His 6 solo records released including a solo album on the world’s first ever 'Fluid Piano’, released by Fluid Piano Tuning Label(2016).
