    I knew Madame DeHartman she invited me to a Gurdjieff movement group in Santa Fe NM. There were probably 60 people in total sync moving to her husbands music. It was much more complicated the movements that they did.

      It requires great attention, pushes you into a flow state where the thinking mind has to shut off while engaging the senses, body, and focused mind. Moving meditation that teaches you to flow mindfully in the midst of activity, which is how you can then learn to carry out your regular life.

    Please do not confuse this with the authentic Gurdjieff Work. These are made up exercises and a wrongly expressed Fourth Pythagoras. So sad as these people seem serious.

    • @yungnietzsche2302

      Made up exercises? Do you mean the movements in general?

    • @LaPalomaBlanca
      @LaPalomaBlanca 2 года назад +3

      @@yungnietzsche2302 No. I mean what these people are doing in this video. I have been working with the Gurdjieff Movements since 1961. I learned from Gurdjieff's direct students. What you see here, first is an exercise copying motions from other movements or a wrongly learned/taught movement. The "Fourth Pythagoras" has the wrong expression of the body and feet. My impression is that it was learned from someone who didn't really understand and passed on to others who don't understand but teach anyway. I find this dissemination of the extraordinary work that Gurdjieff brought to be vey sad but inevitable. If you are seriously interested in the Movements, make sure that they are taught within a group that works with the whole teaching as Movements are not meant to be studied apart from the entire teaching.

      Gurdjieff often used tricks. Whats even more funny, is that he was very open about his use of deceptive methods.
      However, are you able to see the greater truths Gurdjieff was pointing at by using these apparent "cons"?

    • @BlackBeltNob
      @BlackBeltNob 2 года назад

      I think he was a guy who liked to make a point with things. Calling people essentially automatons and his point is proved by them mindlessly following (from "the arts" perspective at least) a pretty soul-less movement routine. No offense intended to the practitioners. There is a difference between exoteric and esoteric, Gurdjieff is of the esoteric whereas his followers (by its definition) are practising the exoteric. Therefore, again, proving his spoken points further.
