A lot of these neighborhoods were beautiful in the 50’s and 60’s. People, like my grandparents and their friends, took pride in their neighborhood and homes. I’ve had to sweep the dirt in the yard to clean the rocks and paper out 😅. I’ve planted veggies and flowers in the yard. We had gardens in Alex, every where. Flowers, beautifully done yards and houses. Those Elders are sorely needed and missed today. I don’t live in La. anymore but I wish everyone all the best.

Alexandria, LA is plagued with crime that far exceeds the average for the United States. The violent crime rate in Alexandria is 83.8 compared to the US average of 22.7 and the property crime rate is 95.4 compared to the US average of 35.4.
