today is all about the Click Between Frames mod in geometry dash which allows players to... well click between the frames while playing, meaning top extreme demons are more feasible to beat due to increased accuracy. however not everyone has geode, and this mod gives such a big advantage when playing extreme demons, demonlist levels and upcoming top 1s that some people dont consider it to be a legit way of playing the game. today we discuss whether the mod is legit! thank you all so much for watching, see you guys at 30k!

Honestly I don't care what some nerds from the demon list have to say about it. If it makes the game more accurate I think that people will use it
I have the same thinking, it only allows us to push the game further to what would be possible without glitches. The only thing is that i think this should be in the base game cuz has a mod, it’s not fair for people that cannot download it. The way I see it, it doesn't modify the inputs, the icon, or the obstacles directly. It purely makes the player's abilities closer to their skill level. Therefore, it should not be considered cheating.

It's only "cheating" because not everyone can use it. iOS users for example can't be "closer to their skill level" like @BusterBrown1217 says. It's not cheating, just unfair until it's added to the base game. There are some small bugs, but I believe they can be fixed.

worth noting this mod wouldn't make as much of a difference on mobile, as touch screens have a much lower polling rate than mice and keyboards, and nowhere near the sayo
It’s also worth noting that if this mod makes it into pointercrate, anyone who doesn’t play on a PC is essentially locked from getting any real list demons completed in the long run since the skill ceiling will increase as a result of this mod. Basically it’s just further elitizing the top playerbase.

People who bought 360hz monitors just for gd are probably just mad they spent all that money only to have this free mod release.
No bc you have to look big picture. A 360hz monitor will still make you better at the game bc you are receiving more updated frames on the screen thus reducing input latency. This mod has zero effect on your game’s fps. This just changes how the game handles your inputs/calculates them (physics).

The frames per second/ticks per second impact the physics. The monitor's refresh rate has 0 impact on that and only tells you how often the image you see updates. Think of it this way - you're watching a fast moving ball through a 60 fps camera, you see its position update 60 times per second, but that doesn't mean the ball's real position updates at 60hz
i don’t know why we use the pointercrate demon list to determine what is or isn’t cheating, i think just do what feels right for you, as long as it’s not speed hacking or no clipping (although i think this isn’t cheating)
as long as you're honest about what you use, you're not cheating. Cheating implies an attempt at deception

even speedhacking can be fine to beat levels at lower speeds to practice for the real thing, i do that with timewarp sometimes, and noclip accuracy isnt cheating

I get that it's not something that's possible in the vanilla game, but for me, an upgrade isn't possible either. so why _not_ use clickbetweenframes instead?

That's why i always laughted about this, I think as long as you literally don't destroy a level like speedhack (which even could be used to enjoy levels other ways, like making tooooo hard levels that can only be played with that) or noclip (which has it's own way, the noclip accuracy) as long as it stays on that terms, i think anything it's legal, as long as you are not trying to hide it

Would love this, because atm, i'm torn between dealing with the screen tear from fps bypass vs the lag from vsync, also eliminating hitches/frame drops would be huge

This mod can be allowed for lower-end players since they would have lower hrtz than the higher end, so basically i think it can be legal
i tried out this mod too, and i definitely noticed a big improvement in with cube and ball, this goes to show how the input method (without click between frames mod) is holding the community back.
To me, this seems to be the only 'everyone wins' solution to the whole demon list physics bypass drama we had not too long ago; and yes - this does change the game.

@@stevee1112 One of my friends plays on mobile, and he makes amazing levels and the game is way harder for him because of how bad the game runs on a mobile, because of the imput lag, the physics works, etc
And i honestly have hope for you all that the game could get geode and this mod aviable really soon, because on my testing it just make the game better, and no downside at all as long as you can install it

In my opinion this is an awesome feature that should be broadly accepted or even officially implemented by RobTop. Comparing something achieved with this mod to something done without it is obviously not a fair apples to apples comparison and the transition to this being the norm will cause some issues, but in the long run having a much more accurate input and physics system is well worth it, especially as the precision in top level play only increases in the coming years.

I don't know what to think, only that Rob should look into adding this in the game
pretty much every other game in existence has solved this issue. how you practice doesn't matter, but completions (speedruns, hard challenges) requires unmodded play. mods/plugins for optimization are additionally often allowed, completely separate from the games usual mod loader. it's weird for gd to allow mods in the first place.
this is like saying you have to use the standard officially endorsed controller to play cod because better controllers have an unfair advantage 🤦♂
@@rwic what? hardware is very different from software. i dont know anything about cod, but melee tournaments for example, also ban controllers with too many modifications. banning hardware because it makes the game too easy is common, and also very different from doing the same for software. you are modifying the game itself to make it different than vanilla, which is very much not making it the same for everyone (what 2.2 was intended to do)

@@rwic that is my point, that most games require a vanilla copy for integrity, even if it changes nothing by itself. hollow knight (obviously the main game i play) has a mod loader which downloads an api to make mods work. the api itself does not do anything else. you are not allowed to submit speedruns where you only have the api installed. celeste mod loader on its own makes no changes that will impact a speedrun unless you cheat (so the exact same inputs performed will be no different from in a verifiable run) but its not allowed to submit speedruns with it. this is how most games work.
@@erierierierierienot allowing modifications part is not enforced in speedrunning holliw knight/celeste etc to keep integrity of the vanilla game, but to make it easier for the modteam to verify the runs. with mods that do not give users unfair advantage, you always run the risk of someone injecting malicious code, and so youre just better off disallowing everything, its not because of the api mod loader somehow ruining the integrity of the vanilla game. think of this mod as just an optimization on shit code that rob wrote

Remember that GD has first and foremost always been a mobile game which has a much different way of accepting inputs, and it got ported to PC
This should be in the game since this fixes pretty much every issue with new physics (even the old ones), extreme demons would be more accesible and why not eliminate input delay for free. I think if this was added in the main game this would make the experience so much better, but now i refuse to use this since i dont like to use external programs for the game and i like to play the game in Vanilla.

on the point about mobile not getting access to it, if it is pointercrate that allows it, they aren't really effected at all by that since mobile players (let alone ios players) haven't ever really been related with pointercrate at all. mobile achievments are still just as impressive and the mobile list is entirley unaffected. I think Rob should totally implement this as a real feature, but pointercrate should also allow it right now. I think the only negative you could mention is "it's not vanilla so it should be banned" and, considering all the benefits, is really silly to say lol
I think its not a cheat, its a QOL feature that makes playing much better in general, especially for people on low fps.

I’d want the feature added but remain optional to the og physics system. Kinda like fnf where even if the new system is better, some players like me prefer the old system in part because of its shortcomings.
I downloaded it the other day and it makes the game, primarily ship, quite a bit easier. My straight fly is far better when using it.
I am playing XO right now and before I got this mod I would die at the first dash orb a lot more than I do now that I have the click between frames mod.
i decided to try out the mod after seeing this video and holy shit this mod is op. usually it takes me about 20 minutes to do acu in 6 runs but i just did acu in 5 runs in the span of about 7 minutes
The main difference for me is that with fps bypass, you could increase frames in vanilla, but you pay money, making rich players have an advantage, so the people who are sucaessful in gd, when the smaller top players grew further behind. Now there is nothing you can do other than the mod and it is too op

Fps bypass was fine because it was emulating something that you could do in vanilla. This is completely changing how the game works. Its a mod that when downloaded makes the game easier, and thats just cheating IMO. I do hope it gets added to the base game, but until it is it's 100% cheating.
CBF is also emulating something you can do in vanilla. Just get a good enough PC to play on 8000 FPS and you'll get same effect as what CBF does

@@ERRR0RR that's not how that works at all. Native FPS does nothing now. The game is locked to 240 ticks per second. Cbf is basically uncapping ticks per second.
Edit: It doesn't uncap ticks, but it allows your inputs to be registered as fast as your pulling rate.
@@ballclawguy it doesnt do that either, it makes it so that fps is irrelevant, and tps has never mattered since 2.2. cbf makes it so that theres like a 3rd thing (imput check per second i guess) that depends on the polling rate of your device. has nothing to do with physics or fps

My hot take: If it’s not made by the game developer, it’s cheating. Either way, I’m on iOS and can’t do it and will continue to play without cheats or hacks.
It’s fine if you use speedhack or in some other games, savestates for practicing but it should not be allowed in an actual completion

@@turzilla FPS bypass was so people didn’t have to spend hundreds of dollars on a monitor just to be able to compete. 360 FPS was in the main game it was just pretty much inaccessible to most people. None of the other ones impact the gameplay in any way

I personally think it should be allowed as the final step of rising GD's skill cap through technological advancements, because if everyone uses it it will boundlessly increase top play, make levels easier for skilled but not top players, and generally even out all hardware.

Around the 3min mark he said that the men d isn't on Amazon fuse and ironically yes it doesn't have it it also doesn't have 2.2 so its stuck on 2.1
One problem I see with this mod is the fact that different devices have different polling rates, example a usual keyboard having 1000 and a razer keyboard having 8000.
This problem is a similar problem to "If u have the money for a high hz monitor, you have a advantage" in 2.1. However, unlike the monitor hz problem, which can be bypassed with tps bypass, the difference between polling rates cannot be bypassed as a device's input/s cannot really be changed.
A way to fix this would be cap to inputs/s at 1000, but that would just nerf players who have 8k polling keyboards.
But who am I to say stuff, with my easy demon hardest?
I think something like fps bypass is allowed because it kinda just negates the disadvantage you get from not having a monitor. The click between frames is a whole different thing though. But if it is just added to the main game, which WHY THE FFFF IS IT NOT THERE BY DEFAULT WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT GAME DESIGN CHOICE, it would be fine.

in my opinion, it should be added in the main game unless robtop says otherwise. you will know in minecraft crystal pvp, there is a mod that lets you place end crystals faster, and the reason the mod is allowed is because it shows your actual skill in the field

what its doing is removing the hardware limitations of the game so nothing really changes in terms of you clicking the mouse to jump besides making it so input delay is non-existent
