I think we need to acknowledge Eric's actual superpower. He has demonstrated on multiple occasions his uncanny ability to incite a crowd to violence and have them all following his every whim. The boy could very easily become president if he wanted to.

Every ginger kid I ever met says that this episode ruined their life in elementary/middle school. Sadly, little kids don’t fully comprehend that this is satire of racism, and just see it as unironic bigotry. That’s not South Park’s fault of course, but more of a parenting one I’d say. Hilarious reaction as usual!
I was an adult, finished with university when this episode came out. It wasn't just little kids that got mocked after this. It was pretty much any of us who knew a South Park fan.
